Confusing? Yes!
Incorrect? No! 🙂
So you are right, in the Routeplanner it's named "Disable seasonal closures". So if not enabled, HERE will always avoid the seasonal closures (default).
In the app, we wanted to make sure everything is more consistent.
Within the "Allowed roads" category the green means enabled and red means disabled (quite clear indeed).
So if "Disable seasonal closures" in the Routeplanner is checked, this related setting in the app will appear as enabled. This is correct as at that point, the seasonal closures are not avoided anymore and thus allowed 🙂
@Con-Hennekens correct, routing preferences are always used by the app.
@Nick-Carthew the only avoidance options that are persisted are highways / ferry / toll roads (the OSM ones). If we would support dirt roads in OSM, that category would definitely be added to the default avoidance options! Do note: when loading a route, the route avoidance options as set in the Routeplanner are always preferred. So if you generate a route, and do not allow highways, you will see that the next time you generate a route, these are indeed avoided. If loading a route (where highways are allowed), you will see that the highways are allowed 😉
