      @Purrrist

      No complaints from me with the current visual functionality.
      Take the Route Lab page as an example.
      From that single page I can access everything I need, with regards to creating, planning or editing routes.
      I can select any of the last 8 routes I edited with 1 click.
      Upload a route a couple of clicks and its uploaded.
      The big square buttons are perfect for those of us that use iPads and prefer to use a browser rather than the App.
      New Route, 1 click name it and I’m creating.

      And if I need to jump elsewhere everything is available from the top level single click buttons.

      The 2015 Yamaha MT09 is indeed a Hooligan.
      The 2015 model only had ABS no traction control.
      In A mode 💪 the throttle is very snatchy and keeping the front wheel on the ground can be a problem.
      The rear suspension is a bit wishy washy and can sometimes get you into trouble also.
      Standard mode is quick enough for me to be honest and B Mode is definitely required if its raining as its very easy to spin up the rear in the wet.
      The standard seat is a “plank” particularly if you are a skinny fella like me with not a lot of “meat” in that area.
      I immediately got the seat refoamed at West Sussex Motorcycles.
      Had to haggle a lot on the price for this as it was registered in 2016 and the dealer had it listed as a 2016 model which it was not.
      In the build up to the release of the 2016 model, Yamaha started throwing in the Akro exhaust for free to try to shift the last of the 2015 models.
      I made the dealer aware of all this and we came to an acceptable price.
      The Akro sounds beautiful on this on the overrun and the gurgles and pops brings a smile to may face every time.

      Summary: Fantastic Hooligan bike with a few dodgy foibles like the rear suspension and the snatchy throttle in A mode.

      Honda CRF 250 Rally and Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro to be added at a later date.

      There are times when arrival time is critical, for ferries etc.
      For me though, 99% of the time there is no time, just the joy of the journey.
      I hope therefore that we are not “forced” to enter times and they can be left blank however many options there are?

    • RE: Garmin Drive App on iOS crashes on opening (New update from yesterday)

      Hi All,

      It looks like the issue regarding the last Shaping point to the Chequered flag being a straight line is now resolved using the GPX 1.1 Beta export on my iPad Pro.

      I have made a route Public called Mendip TT that transfers to the Garmin XT Trip Planner perfectly now.

      I personally never use Via Points but I also added one in a copy of the Mendip TT file and this transfers to the Garmin XT Trip Planner perfectly as well.
      Mendip TT with Via Point is also public.

      Thank you Catalina. 👍

    • RE: navigon lifetime email

      “Lifetime” is a classic marketing/legal term that very rarely means what you think it means.

      I would take a guess that 85-90% of the MRA Navigation subscribers are 35 and over, so in this instance its a bloody good offer in my opinion.

      Personally I’ll be swapping my Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro for a Zimmer frame long before my “Lifetime” Navigation sub runs out. 😳

      Zimmer Frame.png

      I think I’ll go for the Carbon Overland adventure version when the time comes.

      @Dave-J-0

      “I presume you mean gps 1.2 format for the 'Save as'? That is what I used for my XT.”

      It’s the other way around as I believe you want to see the Shaping Points and the Via Points.
      The .GPX 1.2 (Route,Track, POI) is the one that will only show the Via Points but does give the full route.
      The .GPX 1.1 (Route,Track, POI) is the one that will show Via Points and Shaping Points.
      Both will automatically create the route in the Garmin XT Trip Planner.

    • New Toy Zumo XT

      So I decided to get a new toy for routing UK Green Lanes.
      Garmin Zumo XT, as it has the functionality of Off Road very similar to Off Road Mode in MRA basically its a Track but it will not Route on Roads it just puts a line between points.
      I was dreading the thought of going anywhere near Basecamp.
      I knew I’d seen a video here regarding using the Garmin Drive App.
      Awesome!
      I have the OS Maps app on my phone but prefer to use a proper Sat Nav, my trusty 550 Tom Tom doesn’t have the functionality and will always route on Roads.
      I am so looking forward to getting the Honda CRF 250 Rally out on the lanes, (Covid permitting obviously) safe in the knowledge that I won’t be enduring the wrath of the walkers for accidentally going on a Restricted Byway.
      I plot the green lane in the OS Maps app to ensure its correct.
      Transfer to MRA, I can then transfer to the XT via the Drive app on my iPad or my Samsung S10.

      Bring on the summer, I am sure I am not alone in being desperate to get some scenic miles with smiles in.

      Lets hope that the lockdown will ease up and I look forward to nodding you all out on the roads.

      Will be looking at some of those others National Parks though.
      Roll on the summer. 👍

      For anyone that is only interested in using Tracks on a TomTom Rider you can use the functionality provided by MRA in the “Save As” Menu, the very last option “TomTom MyDrive”, will only transfer the Track to TomTom MyDrive and the TomTom Rider it will not transfer the Route.
      You will see a pop up that requires you to enter your TomTom MyDrive email and Password.

    • RE: Bike Route

      @michael-blewett

      My guess would be that you have accidentally moved the white dot on the Start Line at the very bottom of the screen.
      This allows you to run through the route and is also linked to the in-built animations.
      To remove it just move the white circle as far to the left as possible and the Red Dot will automatically disappear.
      I may be wrong however because if you close the route and open it again it resets the white dot to the very start again, i.e. no red dot visible.

      Maybe you misread my post.
      “You could check the “Route Line Transparency” in the Toolkit and make sure it is not set to 100%.”

      As Jack said , 100% means the route line is completely transparent as in not visible.

    • RE: Screen Rotation using MRA Navigation

      @con-hennekens

      Whilst I generally use my Garmin XT 95% of the time, there are some instances where coloured waypoints can be quite useful.
      Personally I would always use a mobile in Portrait mode to see more of the road ahead.
      As we know MRA are particularly good at giving us lots of options and not dictating how we plan our routes etc.
      I would hope too that MRA Next would cater for those that prefer to use landscape mode, and move/scale the key information so that it does not “waste’ screen space, as it currently does for MRA Navigation when used in Landscape mode.
