Why is it worthless?
What is better?
A route with 100 waypoints which are all mandatory and needed to get the TomTom follow the exact route. And the Waypoints needs to be skipped manual when missed.
Or.
A track based route (with voice guideance) which always exactly does as intended by the GPX file. But no waypoints at all? And absolute no hassle when riding. Just drive and the TomTom fixes all your mistakes without user interference
In my opnion it would be a very good idea that Garmin users are gonna use TomTom Go or TomTom Rider for at least a year and then give their opnion. The TomTom software is much better than people realize. It is definitely the more easy one to learn.
Yes, the lack of via-, waypoint support can be negative sometimes. But how many waypoints do you really need in a route? Normally no more than a few.
Set those waypoints as a favorite in your list of favorites and the icon appears on the screen when you reach that location. Just like a normal waypoint
Garmin and TomTom are two differents worlds. Both have their strength and weaknesses. Bot are very mature devices/apps. You need to get used to both. That is for sure
