Off line maps update

@Richard-18 just a warning, the next map update is going to take a long time. The more maps you have loaded the longer an update takes.

Sorry, but downloading maps is a pain in the ...
New installation of the App (Android) and a new try to download the map for Germany (1GB) after 4,1/2 hours just one quarter is from 1GB is downloaded.I give up for today, the device always went on stby and I can not tab the screen always to keep it on.

@Jörgen, I am afraid I share your experience somewhat. I found that while downloading maps, sometimes the bandwidth usage simply stops, despite being able to browse the internet (so proven okay connection). Simply force closing the app and re-initiate the download makes it fast as a rocket...
Development is trying to get their brains wrapped around this, but it seems to originate from the HERE maps service.

After three attempts yesterday and another four attempts this morning, each with a restart of the app, it finally worked to download 1G.
But this must be improved, no matter from which side.
As testers, we are aware of the situation, which can be so frustrating for new customers. They don't know a possible solution and will report angrily about the app. -

Then we, as "insiders," can try to defuse the newcomer's anger...

As testers
This problem shouldn't have made it into the production release though.

@Matt-Flaming
My personal experience is very different to yours.
I have never once had an issue with the Offline Maps or updating them.
For clarity the current Offline Maps I have are Ireland (132 MB), Isle of Man (36 MB), England (754 MB), Northern Ireland (82 MB), Scotland (153 MB) and Wales (125 MB).I hope it gets better for you with future updates.

Ik had vandaag ook geen probleem met het downloaden van Zuid Afrika.

Mixed result with downloading the 16 gb map set for Europe to my Samsung S10.
I just left it downloading while I went to work.
For some unknown reason, the download stalled, with France, Italy and the UK not installed. Everything else was there. I closed the app and restarted the download. A few minutes later, and everything was installed.
Note: This was done simply as an experiment, to see if the maps will download. The answer, is yes they will; just be patient. Nobody in their right mind ever really needs the whole of Europe every day of the week.

Same problem for me. Clicking 'Download update' does nothing even after a force close.
Its been that way for over a week now even after the last update. -
@Gary-Battrick if you use an Android phone, try going into settings and deleting data. If it's iPhone, you may have to delete and reinstall the app.

TLDR: my update worked fine on Android v4.0.2 - 198.
Detail:
Mine updated 6 European countries, most of them large, in less than 12 minutes (I wasn't watching accurately).Initially it said 0 of 6, 1 of 6, and then I stopping watching.
It finished quite confusingly with 'Update started' as the headline message in Offline maps screen.Pressing the back button and then re-entering Offline Maps showed them all complete.

I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and it worked

Today the winner is...
I have tried to download the Germam map again because of App update. Today it took about 10 hours.
