@Hubert-Thoring @Dave-J-0 @Peter-Schiefer Feedback from another hour of testing: I tried all possible combinations: first music on, then CarPlay connected, then sometimes music off, sometimes not, sometimes CarPlay first, then music etc. The result: with the new iPhone/iOS, all sounds (music or turn-by-turn announcements) are played exclusively via the motorcycle speakers. With the old 6S, no sounds are possible in this way, neither on the motorcycle nor on the cell phone. And now I have decided not to invest any more time. I'll just use the app, which looks really super informative on the motorcycle display, without sound. Thanks again to everyone who thought along and tried to help with tips! Wolfram

@Corjan-Meijerink ik ben gewend om het scherm in de rijrichting te hebben staan, begrijp ik het goed dat de auto-zoom met Apple Carplay dan niet functioneerd, en dus in "Noord Boven? moet staan ?

@Simon-Bradford, it almost looks like there is a sneaky waypoint in the route behind the blue instruction panel... I have no clue why this happens, but a lack of waypoints is not it for sure!

There are more clever ways to get data, and besides it also works without data. Like any dedicated satnav does. Of course, this all related to Android Auto. This is "of course" not true at all. Some suffering from this problem use their phones on the handlebar without any AA/CP. Overheating (caused by battery drain) is a recognized problem, it is being worked on, but seemingly quite complex. While some suffer from it (which is bad!), many don't. Taking phones out of cases an things like that are merely a workaround. If it does not work for you, that is a of course pita.

Looking forward to the beta version. same here! just did 3500 km road trip. the visibility on the map is a problem. mostly if you want to change your route du to obstructions. or have just overview where your driving.

@Con-Hennekens a short report from trial and error: as advised, I changed waypoint 6 (but also 4 and 10, just to make sure) and it has had the desired effect: the route is being followed as planned. Perfect! Thanks again to everyone for the quick and helpful answers Wolfram

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MR-MRA Dit werkt op een iPhone goed maar via een CarPlay scherm kan je niet op de routepunten drukken. Vanmiddag maar weer op de BMW Nav6 gereden. Ik wist deze mogelijkheid niet. Na een pauze dus eerst mijn app via de telefoon op een punt drukken en vanuit daar verder gaan en dan springt de CarPlay scherm ook naar dat punt. Handig NEE !!!!

@Fred-Gilbert Hi Fred I've looked at your route. Most of your shapingpoints are way off the route. When it's like that any device shall have trouble finding teh desired route for you. Zoom in max and place all the shapingpoint ON the route. Like that riding the route will give satisfaction instead of ........ Have fun

@richtea999 I don't think that I am (for this route) that sophisticated a user. I was aiming to get to Bicester and used the app to help (keeping an eye out for traffic, etc) while knowing a couple of the roads that are fun to use. What surprises me is that the app takes a long time to recalculate, even if I am well past the point that "my" route is quicker than the app planned one (here I am assuming it is trying to get to the destination in the shortest time - but is that how the algorithms work?). Google seems to recalculate much quicker.
