New Beta! (v4.0.4)

You can now select an amount between 1 and 4 voice prompts per instruction.
The lower the number, the less instructions you receiveHow is the spacing of the voice prompts determined if you select a lower number? I have chosen '2' but I seem to be only receiving one very late announcement.
At motorway speeds, this announcement is also very late. Furthermore with the times I do receive the first announcement of the 2, this tends to be just, "continue on the route.......". I had thought that I may get an initial 0.5mile out warning and then one before I need to turn. Grateful if you could clarify how the variable announcements are determined with distance and moreover, speed.
I will do some more testing with a more complicated route and not just an A to B. Good work.

@Dave-J-0 thanks! Ofcourse I can elaborate
1: The actual action (eg. Turn left now)
2: Furthest possible notification (eg. Turn left in 5km)
3: Distance reminder (eg. Turn left in 500m)
4: General reminder (eg. Turn left in 2km)Each number includes the preceding numbers so to say
The first is the only one guaranteed to exist. -
@Corjan-Meijerink ok. That makes sense. For me, I would prefer if the number 2 was number 4 and then 3 and 4 became 2 and 3 repaectively. Useful to know what others think and will go with the flow. . Btw, the grey screen problem on resume does seem to be cured despite my best efforts to break it. Great job.

The first is the only one guaranteed to existWow, this is difficult to decide on when starting to think about it.
I would probably want to turn it around:
1: The actual action (eg. Turn left now), I always want to hear
3: Distance reminder (eg. Turn left in 500m), I always want to hear as it is useful at any speed and any road
4: General reminder (eg. Turn left in 2km) i want to hear sometimes depending whether I go fast or not
2: Furthest possible notification (eg. Turn left in 5km) I maybe don't need as I am never racing and will already have forgotten the instruction by the time I get to the turning point. -
@Corjan-Meijerink yes. This works a treat. Brilliant.

@Corjan-Meijerink thnkx 4 a great job done
May the testing begin -

and me! and well done again Corjan -
Same here, I spent 30 minutes on a bus loading routes with not a single grey screen in sight.

@Corjan-Meijerink I have to admit I assumed the extra prompts would push them further out. The order surprised me (and no-one could guess it, I reckon!)
I had already set mine to 2 expecting the 500m and 'Now' prompts. I'm glad you explained it, but I recommend the options extend in distance with increasing number, since that's more logical - and you won't have to keep explaining it.
Then people who navigate by mostly audio will probably pick option 3 or 4.
And those who navigate mostly by the map will probably pick 1 or 2 (me) - or switch the audio off.I've now gone back to 3. That is, until you change it.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I am loving this update especially the lane and audio (reading the added info)

@richtea999 totally agree with you. I was curious when I tried the new version which is why I asked the question. I hope it will be changed to what people are saying here as I had assumed the same.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink any update on offline usage? are you planning on improving at least the route downloads?
-

Curious. What do you mean by this?
-
@Dave-J-0 currently if you want to download your routes, so you can use them with no internet connection, you have to download them one by one, and to see which one are downloaded you have to go to a completely different section of the app. This is one of the main reasons I'm still using mapy instead of myroute-app.

@cvlmtg no, not yet

Great new features! Compliment again for the MRA team!
Any idea when the iOS version will be available?
Can't wait to test the new version -
Great! Looking forward to test v4.0.4 Thanks for the hard work.
