MRA Navigation APP
-
Hello, the season is almost over at least in Switzerland and I have driven more than 6000km with MRA Navigation on my Huawei P30 Pro. The new navigation app is therefore no longer as urgent as before
What I miss:
-Route recalculation with confirmation
-Offline better response time to turnoffs. These come often very late.
-Changing the map display
-Tracking. Would be quite cool to run the tracking always in the background and save the data on the mobile. As with Garmin.Maybe someone of the developers can tell us what to expect in the new version?
-
@Kudee, I think it is way better to release the new app exactly in the off-season. So users can get used to new functionality and changes NOT in the high season. Although that is a difficult thing in an App that is used worldwide
-
@Con-Hennekens yes, I agree. Not in the least to avoid that a stupid bug destroys that one single holiday in the high season
-
Android 1.6.10 has brought me back to using MRA Navigation as my main navigation device (using Samsung S10 5G).
As this is a Beta version I always stick the TomTom Rider 550 in the Tank Bag just in case.
My Garmin XT is now only used if I am dong Off-Road stuff.To date I have not had to use the TT Rider 550 yet.
-
@Steve-Lynch, Similarly I used to prepare my Zumo 390 for the "just in case" scenarios. Now I have a CAT S52 navigation/phone running MRA Navigation, I do not see the benefit of the Zumo anymore.
I am running version 1.6.10 too, but I am not aware of it being a beta, and it does not get mentioned in the app.

@Con-Hennekens
If you go back in the Play Store and look at the full description you should see plenty of Beta notices throughout.
Unless they have another version running in parallel that is not Beta. -
-
@Matt-Flaming I have 1.6.10. Not Showing as Beta. Would like to test new Versions if avaiable

@Matt-Flaming
It says Beta so I will treat it as a Beta and always have a backup plan with me, the Tom Tom Rider 550The most interesting thing in this release is the âAlways place Waypoints on the Roadâ option.
Maybe this has been there for a while but I have just started using MRA Navigation again recently for the last month.
So in edit mode in MRA Navigation after you have created the first waypoint, all Waypoints you add thereafter are guaranteed to be exactly on the nearest Route Line.
That may well be quicker than doing it in MRA Planner as no need to fully zoom for each waypoint.
And if you create a route in MRA Navigation it does then pull into MRA Planner.
Pretty cool methinks.For me I have had only one issue with it where I had a âfigure of 8â route that had Waypoint 2 appearing twice on the route because the route came back through the same Road I started on.
It was an easy fix to just remove that particular waypoint which wasnât even Waypoint Number 2 but was actually showing as Waypoint Number 2.I know there are users that are having issues with it so Iâm just wondering how we as a community can support those users.
I guess the issues are based on the fact that there are so many different Android variants and the different manufacturers often put there own UI version on it.
Maybe if Android users declared their Phone make and model then users on the same models could try to re-create issues that others on the same model are having.Iâm on a Samsung S10 so if any users are having issues on those then I would be happy to try to re-create any issues, share my settings etc etc etc.

@Matt-Flaming
If you want to share the route that crashed Iâd be happy to try it my end on the Samsung S10. (Sort of similar)
-
@Matt-Flaming
Ok fair enough.

@Matt-Flaming
I suppose the text in my screenshot above confirms what you are saying Matt.
âFuture updates will include Beta versions.â -
@Con-Hennekens
Gravel Roads, Here can't. OSM no Problem
Even Garmin Basecamp knows this Road. Thats a bit dissapointing for me.

Even Garmin Basecamp knows this Road. Thats a bit dissapointing for me.Yes, I looked it up in MRA and see the same. Also the TomTom map uses that gravel road, without a problem. On the HERE map that road is completely absent, and of course then you can't navigate it. It is a gap in the Here map.
I have difficulty in believing that Basecamp DOES show this road on the HERE map. That would implicate that the HERE map used by MRA is NOT equal to the HERE map Garmin uses, unless it is a version difference and that road has been added recently, in which case it would be interesting to know the map versions. Maybe someone from MRA can elaborate on this?Are you sure you are not using OSM maps or some other map in Basecamp?

no road in basecamp

This is Garmin Basecamp

wich version of the ntu card do you use?
