LAUNCH: Major Navigation revamp

@StefanHummelink Thanks Stefan. I open up several planed Routes and on some Routes not even the Start and End Point are flagged as Via Points. I don't know. I'm confused a bit
-
@Kudee Exactly! Something's not working as it should...
-
@StefanHummelink I hope the development team can solve this quickly as the navigation app will get new features when the season is over and Santa Claus is ringing at your door. For my type of skiing I don't need Mra
-
@Matt-Flaming Thanks for replying,
I've shot you another private message to clear some things up and get us working towards a solution! As I said there, I'll repeat it here, I don't mind civil discussion as I believe this in the end helps everyone get to a place where they're happy with the services they've subscribed to.
Regarding the new features:
- Carplay, roundtour generation and nearby routes are being worked on right now.
- Smaller quality-of-life features are determined on a two weekly basis and implemented on the go
- In that same period reported issues are resolved, prioritized by impact on app usage and our crash-free performance indicator
- In Fall-Winter we will start the democratic process of setting up a new roadmap. This means a mail campaign, scouring the forum for features and creating unique descriptions for each feature that are understandable to the user, setting up surveys, sending these out and creating a new roadmap based on these results.

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA I would like to give some feedback here. Took a small tour today. The via points worked. @ Matt-Flaming, also in the navigation - route editor the via points are displayed! I suspect that via points are not always saved in the WEB planning tool. I was able to readjust yesterday. What I do not quite understand what the difference is whether I start the route in the navigation app "Navigate and track" or in "Route planning" Guess it is the same?
After driving over 2000km with MRA and mostly offline, I have to say that I love the app. For me the killer feature "route is left, Recalculation yes or no?" is the most I'm missing. I not going to buy any Garmin anymore. In terms of price, however, a waterproof cell phone is almost as expensive as a Garmin. BTW: Is someone using the Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro?
Lg Kudee -
@Matt-Flaming Thank you for the valuable tips and links. I guess that! I just want to take one cell phone with me on my trip. All these China cell phones are thick and heavy, have no waterproof connections and the camera is bad. I think the Samsung Xplorer Pro will be my phone.
-
@Matt-Flaming I utilize an SP connect system with anti-vibration damper module in combination with 360 degree magnetic cable to prevent all mechanical stress on the USB connection. By doing so I have all confidence in using my regular phone as navigation as well.
-
@StefanHummelink So one mobile for daily use, photos, Whatsup , etc. and another mobile for navigation? Most travel sim providers do not allow thethering. If the travel Destination is special I take my Lumix with me, but a China cell phone with an crappy camera doesn't make me happy.
-
@Matt-Flaming Ya ofcourse these kind of engines produce significant amount of vibrations... after several cases of iPhone 10 OIS failures due to using the iphones on motorcycles, SP connect developed the antivibration module which has shown major decrease in vibrations into the phone. Yet I can understand that offroading is another thing and an secondary device seems logical... Also considering the chance for "loosing" the phone due to the ofroading.
-
@Kudee nope. One single phone only. My daily phone is used on my motorcycle as well.
-
@StefanHummelink Every mobile phone with optical image stabilizer has the vibration problem. With Apple Prison and NSA already build in you have the wrong operating system anyway Sorry, I don't like Apple
-
@Kudee Yep, entirely true, but the first issues were reported from iPhone devices. Haha. I'm a fandroid guy so hate towards Apple is in place for me as well haha. Yet, after hearing about the issues I bought the damper as soon as it became available.
-
@StefanHummelink https://sp-connect.de/ ?
-
@Kudee Yes, I use the combination of items shown below.
-
It is unclear from the information I have received on the new version 2.0 whether existing 1.x.x subscriptions will get the upgrade or whether it will be a completely new product, in which case what happens to my Navigation subscription which runs until Sept 2023?
-
@Frederick-Briggs-0 Dear Frederick, your current Navigation subscription will receive the upgrade free of charge.
-
Does current version will be upgraded to 2.0?
-
@Spili said in LAUNCH: Major Navigation revamp:
Does current version will be upgraded to 2.0?
You want to know whether there wille be a seperate v2 app, and if they can be used next to eachother?
Good question! -
Excately.
I have bought a 3 year subscription for current version and I do not want to "stuck" with it
So if ver. 2.0 will be a separate app I would like to upgrade 1.6.6 to 2.0.
For current users upgrade will be free? Or have to pay for upgrade?
