LAUNCH: Major Navigation revamp

Excately.
I have bought a 3 year subscription for current version and I do not want to "stuck" with it
No, Timo mentioned above already that all subscriptions will get the upgrade
So if ver. 2.0 will be a separate app I would like to upgrade 1.6.6 to 2.0.
For current users upgrade will be free? Or have to pay for upgrade?I think the questions is more like if your 1.6.6 app will be auto-upgraded to 2.0. I can imagine that not everyone is wishing to be upgraded to this very different new version without having tried it beforehand. So yes, hopefully it will be a seperate App in the appstore. But I am quite sure your license will be coupled to the same account you are using already.
-
I understand the confusion.
There will be no seperate app. If you have Navigation, you'll have Navigation 2.0

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA I come from an old ZĂŒmo 595 to MRA. Was always Garmin enthusiastic but a cell phone and a SIM card can do much more than the Garmin. After all the disastrous reports about the Garmin XT I decided to drive only with cell phone. I have tried all apps through, each has its problems and I actually want to travel and not read me for hours in forums around problem solutions. MRA is relatively easy for me, although I also miss that the development is just too slow. Thousands of users who have a subscription, that would have to come together a shit lot of money to drive the development forward. Since I know a bit about outsotrcing, I don't understand why there isn't much more action. So far I have only driven on the road, can not make any statements regarding offroad. For me, the MRA app is already even offline better than my old Garmin. In September it goes to the east of Europe, 6 countries, many routes offroad. Since I am not yet convinced I will probably take my old 595 loaded with OSM as Backup. Unfortunately

In fairness to the Garmin XT, all the issues are resolved as far as I can see.
I use the Trip Planner exclusively now, I can go off the route and it will take me back to the next shaping point.
I have no need to âDisplayâ the Track on the map to get me back on my route.
I never use Via points and I make a point of putting at least 1 shaping point on every single road I want to travel on, no matter how long the route is.
MRA assigned a developer specifically to look at the XT and both they and Garmin (Garmin Drive App) fixed it pretty rapidly. -

In that case I really hope everyone will see it as improvement, and no nasty bugs will show up.

@Kudee Thank you for the positive feedback. We're crunching down on getting our RoadMap item 1.2. launched on the 5th of july, which sadly means resolving a lot of longstanding subscription and payment managment issues. From that point forward we'll be blasting forward with great new features that will be announced shortly. We'll revise the Roadmap a bit to make sure more useful features for the community will be released in a shorter timespan.
@Steve-Lynch thanks for recognizing that.
@Con-Hennekens while new nasty bugs can never be avoided, if they pop up they are now more manageble than before because of our new development process. There's a BETA testing panel that has access to newer, possibly more unstable, versions as well as almost daily updates.

2.0 for Android.
Available when? -
Over 3 months on and still on iOS v.1.0.30 which is itself 5 months old. Where is this rapidly mythical seeming âmajor revampâ? Because I have had to give up with Navigation as it stands which, for my purposes, makes the whole MRA offering a rather worthless âinvestmentâ.

and also for my beloved Android powered Huawei P30 Pro
Why not some beta Version so we can test and help to improve it?

@matt-flaming
Hi Matt,
You can follow the roadmap here, then you can see what the team is working on.
For MRA Navigation, I don't think there is an update planned in the short term. -
So what was all this about?
@timo-martosatiman-mra said in LAUNCH: Major Navigation revamp:
Attention Community!
Since 2017 we've been at work to not only provide the best routeplanner out there, but also to give real travel enthusiasts the experience of a fully fledged navigation system on their smartphone. This dream is MRA Navigation, and from the very beginning it has been a rocky road for some users.
After years of tackling our app woes on our own, splitting development attention between MRA Routeplanner and MRA Navigation we decided in the second half of 2020 to have our internal development team move their focus fully to MRA Routeplanner. Through a closed procurement procedure we contracted a long-term development partner for MRA Navigation, App-vise B.V. in the Netherlands.
Now, after almost a year of work we're ready to announce that the major Navigation revamp has been completed. On both iOS and Android we experience a 96.8% crashless performance, wih crashfree performance in navigation apps of <90% signalling that MRA Navigation remains a top tier navigation app. Not only that, we have added new waypoint features and POI visibility.
In the very near future we plan to finally release Apple Carplay, as well as nearby routes and a brand new roundtour generator (although experienced users will have figured out by now that using both the MRA Routeplanner mobile app and MRA Navigation provides seamless roundtour generator performance.
To celebrate this major milestone we've created a brand new landing page for you to explore. Check it out here!
https://info.myrouteapp.com/mra-navigation-landing-page-enBecause as far as the Navigation app goes, nothing has changed in my experience. To the point that I have stopped using it apart from occasional forays to see has there been any noticeable and significant improvements in functionality and reliability. There hasnât been.

@hans-van-de-ven-mra-master
Ich dachte da kommt was neues? WĂ€re schwer entĂ€uscht wenn nicht! Spiele gerade etwas mit OSMand herum. Offline Navigation geht.

Hi all,
Good morning,
I was too quick with the link to the roadmap, I hadn't read it properly. Sorry about this.
But there may also be a roadmap for MRA Navigation.Guten Morgen,
Ich war zu schnell mit dem Link zur Roadmap, ich hatte sie nicht richtig gelesen. Tut mir leid.
Möglicherweise gibt es aber auch eine Roadmap fĂŒr die MRA-Navigation. -
I can only agree with the desire!
I have been observing the "navigation on the mobile phone" scene for a while now. It is noticeable that updates, bug fixes and enhancements are implemented very promptly. Only with MRA Navigation this is not the case. What is the reason for this? Are there not enough MRA resources available or are the software products of the competitors worse programmed and therefore have to be updated more often or is there another reason?
What always annoys me is that even the simplest things (e.g. on the UI) are not changed at short notice.
By the way: I think a little more transparency in NAV further development is very desirable. -
Is there a gap between desire and reality? If you make such statements publicly, then you have to be measured by them! And if the users demand this performance, you should at least give an answer.
-
When an update finally came ...... or at least a statement or a roadmap, but like that, OSMand is not bad either
