"The selected profile only works in the HERE / TomTom map"
-
Why each time when I open a route, I receive the following message:The selected profile only works in the HERE / TomTom map.

@VASILE-ADRIAN-FURTEA-0 Because you are using the planning map from OpenStreetMap and you have motorcycle set as your transport mode. Change the planning map to either TomTom or HERE, whatever matches your navigation device.
-
Better use car as transport mode, motorcycle can have some issues, and the differance is almost zero.
@BertM The most important thing to get right is the planning map that you use not the transport mode. There are no issues now with using motorcycle.

@nick-carthew I disagree.
If you use the motorcycle profile you cannot share your route with others.
It took me a long time to figure this out and unfortunate this issue is still not solved after I reported the bug in 2025.

There are a lot of navigation progams using OSM, so I do not see the point why you have to use HERE for planning.
If you use car for transport mode you wil be able to plan with OSM.I know this is posted in the App section and that this is using HERE unfortinatly.

@BertM As I said before, there are no issues with using motorcycle as transport mode. I share motorcycle routes to my wife every week. Please check again.

If you use car for transport mode you wil be able to plan with OSM.The reason for using the Here map is that MRA users the Here SDK.
Regarding the motorcycle profile. I haven't seen any avantages of that profile and I don't care that there's no helmet on the route but the car symbol. -

@BertM Yes but if you want to use the bike profile you must choose either Here of TomTom maps

The link that you shared relates to a forum post about embedding routes in a website, not transport mode or sharing motorcycle routes. Please test sharing a motorcycle route. Here's a motorcyle route for you to see: https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/14131154?mode=share

@Nick-Carthew the same with the camperprofile, they are not shown on your personal embedded map. Only the carprofile. This has been reported several months ago, should have been resolved before my great campertrip, but until now it hasn't.
https://routes.lexwill.cyou/gps-routes-maken/ scroll down until the map. You won't see a trip in Spain and Portugal, although I have several routes published and for everyone open.

@Travellexxie The topic of this forum post is about using the planning map from OpenStreetMap when you have motorcycle set as transport mode. Not embedding a library.

@nick-carthew you stated there are NO issues with the motorcycle mode.
There are issues and I replying on your statement that there are no issues Now. ( and as it seems the same issue for campers)

Closing ranks?
When i have a route set to public with a motorcycle profile it will not been seen in my personal libary, this I reported with a support ticket in january 2025 and it is confirmed by MRA.As there are no advantages on using the motorcyle mode in MRA in relation to the car mode while PLANNING a route that what I replied in my first post.
That the focus is on the app the last years and not the planner it seems that the team forgets that there are people who do not use the app.
The fact that the HERE map is total crap for example in Asia makes the app useless there. -

If you're not using the MRA app for route execution, use OSM as the base map in Routeplanner. It works well, regardless of what some here might say. I've created dozens of Routeplanner OSM based routes for execution in my Garmin devices and have never had an issue. Most commercial planners use OSM as their base map, and their routes (if created correctly) seem to work just fine when exported.
Make your life easier. Don't fight it.

I agree 100%. I have over 200,000 km of routes planned and ridden using OpenStreetMap on Garmin devices. I never use the HERE maps on my Garmin, and beyond some testing of MRA Next, will not use MRA Next for navigation. There are too many issues with both MRA and HERE for it to be relied upon. I frequently recommend the MRA planner to people but actively dissuade them from using MRA Next.
