This showed up on the map, have only seen it once. It happened after driving through a tunnel (no gps).

@Marinus-van-Deudekom no, it means that i am driving in forest like area (offroad), and HERE thinks that because it got an incorrect position from my phone (lost the gps signal). It takes a little while to recover from that.

The patch work of blue lines is roughly on a straight line between to waypoints.

@Marinus-van-Deudekom Itโ€™s not an internet connection issue, but rather the GPS signal being lost when driving through a tunnel (see the original post).

@herman-veldhuizen Iโ€™ve driven through quite a few tunnels myself this summer, but I havenโ€™t noticed this issue. Does MRA automatically pick up the route again after a while? And what happens if you tap โ€œTap to recalculate routeโ€?

@CD130 After leaving the tunnel a new gps fix was obtained in this case, but the map remained frozen, sort of. I didnt wait long enough to know if the app would recover by itself. I tapped recalculate and that worked.

Okay, clear. Iโ€™ll keep a closer eye on what the app does on my end when I come out of a tunnel where the GPS signal was lost.

The behaviour varies from tunnel to tunnel. Not sure why.
Most annoying is that the app recalculates if the gps position wanders off, even with the setting for automatic recalculation off.

It depends on the responsible Service Organisation for the specifically Tunnel. Some have installed antennas or other technical solutions to extend the satellite signal into the tunnel.

The it depends also on the Navi-Devices. Some uses this extra service (if it is there), some does an interpolation, to keep on to display the position on the screen, some does nothing then informing about loss of GPS signal.

@Guzzist Also the behaviour after the tunnel varries. In some cases it takes many minutes (at least 5) before the App recovers. I believe the app gets a correct gps position but it shows it on the wrong place on the app which hardly moves. If I stop and restart the navigation the app works fine again.
