I would like to talk to other users about the experiences with the Remotek-One.

Please write who is already using it and under which system:

My hardware / software:

• iPhone Xr iOS 17.5.1
• MRA V 4.2.0 Beta User
• Remotek-One (with the ID: RT-One 286)

At the moment, my MRA crashes outside the navigation when it is paired with the Remotek-One via BT.

Within the navigation, the "+/- zooming and the four arrow keys for the map move goes very well.

Centering is not possible, but the MRA is done automatically after 3-5 sec.

würde hier gerne mal mit anderen Usern über die Erfahrungen mit der Remotek-One in den Austausch gehen.

Bitte schreibt mal wer es schon benutzt und unter welchem System:

Zur Zeit stürzt meine MRA außerhalb der Navigation ab wenn es über BT mit dem Remotek-One gekoppelt ist.

Innerhalb der Navigation geht das „+/- Zoomen und die vier Pfeiltasten für das Karten verschieben sehr gut.

Das Zentrieren geht nicht, erledigt aber die MRA nach 3-5 sek automatisch.

@Hubert-Thoring I really understand that the issue you are having is annoying, yet the amount of posts you dedicate to this, is getting slightly irritating

Anyhow, I did the following tests with the Remotek controller I have here.

As always, please refer to the manual of the device itself: https://www.remotek.no/manual
As stated there, multiple profiles are available. Ensure the map profile is selected.

1 Map profile – to get there do SCH1 Arrow Up (1 green blink, alternates with roadbook)

If you have issues with the device, you can switch between Android and iOS mode as they send different keycodes. You do this by holding arrows up and down for about one second.

To switch between Android and iOS mode (in case the zoom buttons and relocate function behaves strange), hold buttons Arrow Up and Arrow Down for about one second, until it blinks red-green for iOS and green for Android. Repeat to switch back.

Now that I have the device setup in map profile and in Android mode (yes indeed, Android mode even on iOS. I selected this because otherwise things worked strange).

Arrow up, down, left & right do as expected.
Zoom as expected.

DC left = c/l, center / switch camera mode (works)
DC up = k, open menu (works) --- close again with zoom out, confirm with zoom in
DC right = m, start navigation / skip waypoint (works)
DC down = n, toggle the ETA (works)

No crashes or whatsoever
The only real issue this controller has is that a single click on a pan button is registered as 3 clicks, you'll see this in the menu.

Hey Corjan, thanks, yes I know all the settings, I've done everything described in the manual for iOS, for example also under iOS accessibility "arrow keys delete" so that the map panning works at all, and then tested everything back and forth, also as an Android keyboard, but then no +/- zooming works.

No matter what I test, the app crashes outside of navigation. I use my Remotek-One so that I can +/- zoom as an iOS keyboard and under MRA input I had to choose standard.

Which setting did you choose in the MAR under settings:

What is the difference in the MRA anyway, and what can be seen differently there?

From what you describe, thanks again for the test, it could really be due to the device version, mine is much newer (RT-One 286) and yours, as you already wrote to me, is (RT-One 131) so a lot older.

I will report this to Dag Jenssen and see what he says.

Hier zwei Videos, zur Anwendung in der Navigation und dem noch zu klärenden Absturz der App außerhalb der Navigation.

In der Navigation macht es echt Laune, ich nutze es z.Z. in der Einstellung iOS da geht das „-/* Zoomen“ dafür kein Zentrieren und die MRA speziellen Funktionen nicht, aber Klärungen laufen.

Es scheint ein Gerätetyp Fehler zu sein, Update soll bald kommen …

• Schalte ich unter iOS unter Bedienungshilfen die Tastaturhilfen „Aus“ dann gibt es keinen MRA Absturz mehr.

Es scheint eine Kollision zu entstehen unter iOS wenn man im allgemeinen MRA Menü ist, und die Tastaturhilfen „Ein“ geschaltet ist.

• mit Tastaturhilfe „Aus“ geht es jetzt mit der Remotek One so wie ich es brauche, da ohne Absturz. Im Eingabemodus Remotek One oder Standart, fehlt mir zur Zeit noch das Zentrieren aber das macht die MRA ja nach kurzer Zeit auch selbst, wenn man keine Eingabe mehr macht.

@Corjan-Meijerink :

• wie war das bei deinem Test mit deiner Tastatur, war die Tastaturhilfe eingeschaltet ?

• Könnte der Absturz vielleicht doch auch noch ein Thema bei iOS und der MRA in diesem aufgezeigten Fall sein ?

Wow! are your issues still not resolved.
If I remember correctly you had an issue with the Remotek One not working using the Remotek One Input within MRA.
I believe that you had to use the Standard Import Setting instead!
That right there seems like a defect to me.
You should insist they send you another Unit.

Sorry for the delayed feedback, but I have been a lot off grid for a long time and at the same time had a lot of work to do.

Anyway, my feedback is this:
The crash. This is and will always be a MRA issue. Nothing I can do about it. It crashes in iOS here too with the latest release. If MRA can´t handle an external controller which every other app with external control handles well (not a single crash in Guru Maps, Osmand and others), then they must do something about it. However, they don´t respond to my emails, and very few users use MRA. I bet they will solve it one day though.

So I recommend for now to switch to for example Guru Maps, an excellent map software with all functions on the remote available.

@Corjan-Meijerink : Gibt es hier zu dem was Dag schreibt einen möglichen Zusammenhang, denn meine Remotek One geht mit allen anderen Apps auch bei mir ohne Absturz, auch wenn die Bedienungshilfe, hier dann die Tastatursteuerung "EIN" geschaltet ist. Es ist irgendwo der Fehler aber ? Bitte sprecht doch mal mit Dag darüber. VG

Nice how nobody wants it to be their issue.
Fun fact, I've never received an email from him or a support ticket.
Not sure how (or even if) he contacts us

I have the Remotek device, use iOS and have no crashes.
Other bluetooth controllers do not crash the app

There is something wrong but he doesn't seem to collaborative about it.
Might be us, might be the device.
I suspect the latter, he the first

Hiermit s. Bild, geht es jetzt bei mir aktuelle ohne MRA Absturz, mehr brauche ich nicht, dann in der sauberen iOS gesamten MRA Anwendung.

BT Kopplung:

• Remotek One und MRA

• In der MRA Einstellung Eingabe Standart

• iOS Remotek One Tastatur.

Dabei ist es zwingend notwendig die iOS Bedienungshilfe / Tastatursteuerung auf „AUS“ zu stellen.

Dann geht es in MRA fehlerfrei bei der Navigation oder auf bei den normalen Karten sehr gut.

Funktion:

• Karte rechts, links, oben, unten
• „-/+ Zoomen

Schalte ich im iOS am Handy die Tastatursteuerung EIN, dann geht einiges mehr, aber nur innerhalb der MRA Navigation, aber außerhalb der MRA Navigation stürzt die MRA ab.

Andere Apps lassen sich dann auch ohne Absturz damit gut bedienen, dazu muss diese Tastatursteuerung EIN sein.
