Weather overlay for MRA app
-
MRA Tech team,
Many of us have to use a weather app on rides in combination with your app. It would be very helpful if you could add a weather overlay to the navigation app so we can adjust our rides and routes based on real-time weather. Happy to clarify my thoughts if needed.
Thank you, Dave -
Would love to see this feature added to the Navigation. Weather Overlay would be a huge feature, especially on a long, multi-day trip.

A weather map overlay would be great to see on the navigation app. You could then track storms and adjust the planned route as needed or at least have a heads up of what is coming your way with out switching to another app. Maybe just an icon to toggle it off and on.
Currently I use the weather bug and weather underground apps. -
I’m guessing that there would be a cost for this weather service that MRA would have to meet, this cost would then have to be passed on to the users.
I’m guessing again now, but a live weather overlay would probably consume more power.
I don’t find it difficult to have a quick look at a third party weather app while using MRA so I don’t fully agree that this proposed weather overlay is necessary.

@Nick-Carthew Totally agree. If you add this weather layer then users would want a selection of configurable aspects as the chosen layer may not be what they want. Easier enough, as you say, to switch to your preferred weather service app that will be configured as you need.

There are a lot of other things in the app that could be qualified as "not necessary". I think it would make a great addition, and it would make the app stand out against competitors. Of course we would need a toggle to switch it off

Despite the fact that some users suffer from battery drainage, it will most likely be no issue for most.

This is something to bear in mind of course. I know that the integration of Flitsmeister is abandoned due to costs too. I would welcome an in-app store in which people can switch on certain features they think are worthwhile.

Good point.
