@Guzt said in Keeping routes from my route app identical with my GARMIN ZUMO XT2: You probably use the Tread app to synchronise your routes. If you do, they will always be different as the Tread app recalculates your route. Save your route gpx 1.1 directly on the SD in the XT2 and import it using the app. Hi Guzt, Thanx mate, but I don't use tread at all. I just export it from myrouteapp as gpx 1.1 to my Garmin XT2, I installed an app that MacBook sees my Garmin as an android device, so in Garmin xt2 file gpx I drop them there and they are automatically stored.

@ptrdvrs ok, I believe I have understood bit better... If you have a route, you can open via left side menue the internal POI section and select a POI category - may a Coffee shop. If you are zooming into the map, icons of this POI category will appear on map - and you can see, if in the preferred area, such a POI is close to your route. If you click on such an icon in map, you will be asked by popup window, if you simply want to add this POI as only POI to your route - or if you want to add it as POI AND as route point. As only POI, it will be visible only in the map and in the manageable list. As POI AND route point, it will be visible in the map as POI (and in manageable list) as well as route point, included in the route and route point list. If you transmit it via gpx 1.1 to garmin, the file includes POI, route with route points and track with track points. And Garmin will import all (POI as favorite). If you have a route, you can open via left side menue the internal POI section and in the tab "manage" you can enter your own POI, selected by position in the map. But unfortunately thus will only be a POI in map - no way to include it as route point. If you need it also as route point - in this procedure, you need to enter a route point manually nearby. In all 3 options: POI selected from internal POI section POI selected from internal POI section, incl. set as route point POI created manually every time, the POI will be transmitted to Garmin-XT into favorites. The route will not include it (only in case 2), but in your scenario- you can stop navigation, select the POI out of favorites and let garmin navigate to.

The only way I can get my Nav6 to follow the planned route is to only use via points, if I use way points it always tries to deviate from the set route.

Yes it helps. Last year I drove 5.000km mainly in France and it guided me well. It helped me, not riding my roof off, under a lower bridge
  • How to Keep Routes Consistent When Exporting to Garmin Zumo XT?

I got tired of playing with 1.1/1.2 and resorted to exporting to XT using GPX 1.0. Seems to keep the fidelity of the route I planned and includes all of the waypoints and viapoints where I put them. I keep the XT around as my 'belt and suspenders' approach. If my phone pukes, I have a dedicated satnav to fall back on. Just as long as I don't have to open Basecamp.

Ja. Mapsource kan als .GPx bestand wegschrijven. Dat is dus geen probleem. [image: 1752688990436-screenshot-001.jpg] Daarna gewoon importeren in MRA en eventueel bewerken. En zo ziet het er na importeren uit: [image: 1752689189178-screenshot-002.jpg]

I will make some adjustments and try again. Seems like waypoint adjustments are key! Thank you for the feedback.

@David-Kelly, Like other already said, it is easier solved by just starting your navigation from the routes menu. It is a bit strange to start routes from a GPX when you already have them in your app.

No, splitting the routes is indeed the recommended way

Hey! Welcome to MyRoute-app (MRA), great to hear you’re already planning routes and syncing them with your TomTom Rider 550. What you’re describing — similar mileage but a much longer duration on the TomTom compared to MRA — is actually pretty common and can be due to a few reasons: TomTom’s Routing Preferences: TomTom devices often recalculate routes using their own algorithms and settings, which include speed limits, road types, and traffic conditions. Even if the distance is similar, if TomTom “thinks” some roads will take longer (due to lower speed limits, traffic, or road classes), the estimated duration can increase significantly. Speed Profile Differences: MRA might use an average speed or estimated speed profile that differs from TomTom’s. For example, MRA may estimate your trip speed based on typical motorcycle speeds, while TomTom uses its own speed limits and historical traffic data, which can add time. Traffic and Road Conditions: The TomTom Rider 550 has live traffic information and road hazard alerts. If the device detects slow traffic flows, accidents, roadworks, or other delays along your route, it can estimate a longer travel time. This can explain why the estimated time on the TomTom sometimes increases significantly. How long are your routes? The longer they are, the bigger the difference can be.
