Thork’s ‘Adventure control’ and MRA
-
Hi folks
Has anyone been able to set up MRA to be controlled by the excellent Thork controller? That would be a major bonus for me if it were possible …

@Nin
I don't know the status but there is a start for it

Hi @Nin I moved your post to the MyRoute-app section of this forum.
-
@Nick-Carthew Many thanks - finding my way around here too!
-
@Jack-van-Tilburg Thanks Jack - I’ve put a post on that thread.
-
@Nin I have been looking at different controller options and would like to see feedback on the Thork model with MRA before I commit to buying.

@Dave-J-0
Please take a look at this topic:

@Jack-van-Tilburg thank you. I have seen the thread and emailed BarButtons about a different format back in Mid-April and he said:
"I am actively prototyping other form factors, but I can't give you
timelines or deliverables at this point. It is likely that in a few
months i will have 1 more model, likely with a joystick. The joystick
is not cheap however, at 60 euros.Joost"
This is the version I am hoping for. However, I use DMD2 also on my Android which is why I was interested in the Thork Controller as an alternative option.

@Dave-J-0
Okay, but in that topic there was a question about Thork to.

@Jack-van-Tilburg Yes. Seen that too. Just trying to look at different options. However, I am generally quite happy with the touch screen approach for now.

The Thork Adventure Controller is not supported.
I have asked John (dev from DMD and Thork) to reach out to @Corjan-Meijerink via email, but I doubt he's had time to do so.
Perhaps @Corjan-Meijerink can reach out to him instead to find out what button profile needs to be configured in MRA.
-
@Matt-Flaming, I think if Thork would disclose what key-presses are simulated with each button, it would be quite easy to implement that directly into the MyRoute-app.
Also, the website says it is auto-adapting to over 30 different Navigation apps. So there surely must be a programmable component. If you can program the keys yourself, you can program them according to the default BarButton keymap, and use the Barbutton setting.
-
@Con-Hennekens It's not user-progammable.
I've been using the Thork/Carpe Iter controllers for a few years now. I have been using Drive Mode Dashboard and talking to the dev (who also built the Adv Controller) for about 4-5 years now.
It requires the GPS application to accept the correct keystrokes.

Do you have a keymap that the Adventure Control uses? I think that's all the dev team needs to implement it, next to the BarButtons and the WunderLINQ.
-
@Con-Hennekens I don't have one.
That's why I asked the dev to contact Corjan.

@Nin the Ghorx adventure control is from Carpe Iter. They have a FB page were you can vote for the app to control next. MRA is on nr 1. Please all vote.

@Matt-Flaming Matt, you surprise me. You of all people should know that the only relationship Thork hast with Adventure Control is that they sell it. It is Carpe Iter controller
