MyRoute-app & BarButtons - control our app using a bluetooth keyboard

@Ronni, to be honest: I don't fancy the buttons between the grip and the regular needed buttons, especially the turn-lights. Priority needs te be at regular handlebar functions...

But this concept is much better . jogger and enter button. all you need. Can it be a jugger button up, down, left, right and pust to enter? Just like on triumph bike....then all you need is one

Make that 4. I can feel an MRA Tiger club beginning to form -
Back to the topic.
There will be no space between grip and bike button at my bike, so it must be installed on the handlebar.
PS: Where is the V-Strom MRA Group?

@Jörgen Indeed! I’m also opting for mounting on the handlebar.

The concept of handlebar controls is interesting but i feel it's much safer to pull before playing with the screen. Even momentary distractions can lead to bad outcomes.

My focus is using the sat nav with gloves. Even when standing, operation with gloves is difficult. These BT keyboards, no matter which one, make operation and selection much easier. So, having it at the handlebar is absolutely ok for me.

I'm pro for a bluetooth controller possibility within the app. You should make it so that the user can load dirrent profiles for different controllers, like for the MRA controller or a profile for BWM, or make a custom profile if they want to... That way you're not obligated to create a MRA controller.
Why shouldn't you make a MRA controller? First of all, small quantity production so it will cost a lot to produce and distribute... Also has to be waterproof and then there's the warranty situation...I'm currently using a waterproof phone but I'm thinking of using a waterproof cellphone holder just to be shure so manupulating the phone with gloves will be hard. A BT controller would be super in combination with the app.

@Pletse we will definitely support more devices and different keymappings. As we speak a WunderLINQ device is sent to us so we can work on the BMW integration shortly!
A MRA controller is something fun on the side. With the possibility of unique features for MRA. We won’t create it ourselves, that’s why we are in touch with BarButtons.

@Maicro Happy to hear your enthusiasm!
This is exactly why we are looking into these integrations.
To answer your questions (and @Jörgen), given the price I’d buy it now if you are enthusiastic. The product might be redesigned or get a custom branding but feature wise it won’t change a lot!
@Maicro skipping waypoint is possible already! See demo video. It’s a long press on a button. Zooming works too! However when navigating the camera stops following you when you changed the zoom. This is however a feature that will be added in the app!
wrote on 15 Mar 2023, 17:17 last edited by Maicro@Corjan-Meijerink Thank you very much.
In the end, I couldn't wait and bought it.
I got it today. But unfortunately, it is malfunctioning. Button 1 has a clumsy feel to it, it's badly fitted and makes bad contact. When zooming in it instantly zooms in again without pressing it.
I have written to Joost Bijl to see what solution he has and sent him these two videos.

@Maicro happy it’s sorted!

Great to see this happening - what’s the latest? I’d love to be able to use my Thork racing “Adventure Controller”.
Just a view on the Bar Buttons options - they would be fine on road but I think a bit too complex for off road riding. Just a thought.

@Nin in the next public update we will support WunderLINQ and possibly SilverFox too
Never heard of this type device but if they use similar configurations as the previous listed, it should work -

Brilliant work guys. So many more operations possible within the app now using the buttons. Selection of routes, starting Nav, adjusting route preferences, changing settings etc. Zoom and map panning works great. Thanks guys.
Only thing I noticed was I couldn’t seem to restart a route using Barbuttons after stopping navigation. Is this possible now or will it be?
Still fantastic without though.
