Community Enagegement Brainstorm

Attention everyone,
Every once in a while we try to organize a good community activity. Some are excellent (RouteXperts), some are pretty good (MRA Navigation Grand Tour), and some kind of flop (Season Challenge '22).
Perhaps you can think along with us in this topic and tell us your ideas of what you think would constitute a cool and engaging community activity that would get people on the road and on MRA.
If you have any (crazy) thoughts, go ahead and post them here.

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA I will think about it during "my off season". In the mean time, keep up the good work on MRA Next

Indeed, slipped the pen for a while, but they can write a blog instead of a travel story

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA
Happy to Blog/Document Single Day Trips?
Vind je het leuk om enkele dagtochten te bloggen/documenteren?

Thanks everyone, I'm going to keep keep my posts fully in English
Blogging is a good idea.
I personally always liked the idea of 'gamification', i.e: rewards for perforance using the app, such as making routes, tracking routes, etc.
A few ideas I had:
- pop-up challenges in the app. You can open the app, it gives you a nice route and you can score points for driving it;
- rewarding social activity with points, for example positive upvotes on the forum and writing well-liked blog posts;

The first idea is great. As for the second point, keep in mind that people may be going to post to score points. I wonder if that contributes to a constructive forum.
At the first idea you can show random pop-ups with an assignment that you can then fulfill. In that case, you will have to build in a possibility that people can also turn off that functionality in the app in case they do not want to participate.
Personally, I hate unwanted pop-ups, especially in a paid app!

I am mainly a car and motorcyclist myself. So my idea will fit best within that group, but will certainly be able to get a shape that suits walkers and/or cyclists.
I'd like to call it the "Alphabet Challenge" and it can go like this:
Plan routes that include four or five places whose first letter of the place name is in alphabetical order.
Drive the route and publish the track or create a blog. Including a photo of you or your vehicle in front of the nameplate of the place and a photo of one (or more) location(s) in that place that caught your eye and is nice to mention.
Repeat this until you have used all the letters of the alphabet.
A first route in the Netherlands would then, for example, be the places; Aalst, Barneveld, Culemborg and Doornspijk. The next route then has a place name with an E in the front of the ride. And that doesn't necessarily have to be the starting point.
It could be that there are letters that do not appear first in a place name, of course. The letter X will be quite difficult for example. We'll just have to skip that one. -

Think just over the border in Germany (near Nijmegen). A small place called Xanten. However, I like the idea in principle.

In Great Britain it will be more difficult

Would Exeter be acceptable

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA
Why not organise a gathering? or a number of gatherings.
You let people subscribe and then pick a spot (or several spots if distances would make it prohibitive) right in the middle of the homes of a group of subscribers.
Then you make a doodle with a list of possible weekends for each group and you pick the weekend .
every body drives up there on saturday, have a nice evening together, and drive back home the sunday afternoon.
People with similar routes can ride together if they agree amongst themselves on a joint starting point.
etc ...

I made a kind of blog once.
https://www.myrouteapp.com/profile/blog/1101916
but I think it did not draw any attention, and I am not aware of any other blog entries of other people.Maybe blogs should be better promoted, made visible?
