I second this from @Nick-Carthew - making the north pointing half of that dial dark/red to make it clear which way north is.

If memory serves me at all, TomTom used to have compass/north pointing indicator built into the location triangle icon which I thought worked brilliantly
(think it could be toggled to alternatively point to the destination)
As you are constantly looking at your position location it was an very easy way to quickly know which direction you were headed

Navigate "Routes as Tracks" in Offline mode with Offline Maps
No Wifi, no internet, no interruptions, works well

        I hadn’t realised that I’d made a suggestion!

I was merely pointing out the compass icon.

Actually @Nick-Carthew, I think that @David-Emmett suggestion is FANTASTIC!
          Can we get it done?

@Lenny-O When I'm traveling in north-facing mode, north is always at the top of the map anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's why it's called north pointing!
Why then also the additional information in red on the compass?

@Lenny-O The compass icon changes after you tap it to indicate which camera view is being used, so I’m not sure that suggestion would work now.

Personally, I know which general direction I am travelling in by knowing the direction of my route and by looking at the natural clues that surround me. The sun 🌞 being the biggest clue. So I’m not bothered about having a moving compass needle.

95% of the time, I know which direction I am heading in too. But there are times when I am riding a relatively convoluted route (because, why not?) and I have gone left-left-right-left-left-left-right so many times that I am briefly confused. And yes, I could (and do) use the sun to orientate myself (except when it's dark, of course), but a simple differentiation of the compass rose would make it much faster and less taxing. Which means I can focus more of my attention on the road, and on riding.

It is a very minor change with a big impact, in my opinion.

@Nick-Carthew Apologies. Perhaps I should have rephrased it. But that icon is exactly the one I would like to have a clearer distinction of north on.

                    Ok, look here.
In this mode you can not tell looking at the compass which way is North.
I guess the point of the Navigation is to make my life easier and not resort to the starts, the sun and other ways to understand my position and direction 🙂

I would like a way to turn the North view off, as I only use Dynamic and Top view. 🍻
