Hello community,
As you know, we're working on polishing the new RouteXpert library. The library is visited over 2 million times each year and has become a cornerstone of the MyRoute-app experience.
Since we aim to include your opinion as much as possible, we'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for this library. Leave a comment below explaining your suggestion, or a link to an earlier posted suggestion if applicable.
kind regards,
Timo

Filtering on RouteXpert, country, star rating, etc. etc. etc.

One of my own suggestions is to "subscribe" to this library based on your own country, so that if a new route is added to a country you receive an email notification about it.
-
Another community-oriented notification would be to send new members a beautiful collection of routes from their own country.

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA
There are almost no routes for the Northeastern United States. It would be great if there was a easy way to have routes submitted for approval to the library. While I mostly ride in in Pennsylvania, I have numerous day routes for Pennsylvania, New Jersey, etc. I have several routes in other states I made for a 4 day ride.
I guess I am not clear on what constitutes as an excellent route worthy of the library.
Love the site and app. Use it almost weekly.

I would like to have all my preferred settings in a single user profile, and not a seperate one for the RX library (or the forum)
In that profile, I would set the notification to warn me when new routes are added that pass through my preferred countries.
As a user, I would like to be able to "subscribe" and "follow" several countries in my user profile. This is not necessarily my own country. As a Belgian, and in my case, these countries would be France, Italy, and Austria.
For the USA, it may be interesting to be able to selct all the individual states and not be limited to the whole USA
When preparing a new route, I would like to be able to search the library for routes that pass (more or less) the starting and endpoint of the route I plan to build.
I would like to select an area on the map and see the tracks of the best routes through that area
I certainly would like to see that the standard for entering a route in the library remains as high as it is today. I am massively impressed by many of the routes and the effort done to document these. As such the routes become a source of information on their own and worth exploring even without having the intention to actually ride them.

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master I think Joe is referring to submitting the routes he has to the RouteXperts, who can then use those to "master" them to RX standards. I think this is a pretty good idea, as there have been quite a few of those routes "RouteXpert review by X, original route by Y" formats around.

Aha, That is indeed possible, @Joe-Adam , how many routes are involved? Then I'll check with the community.

Thanks, I will submit the required information later this evening. looking forward to learning and working with the group.

I have at least 20 route in my public folder with at least another 20 to be cleaned up, updated and published. Some are just nice rides on the backroads of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the like, while others have destinations mid-point such as Motorcycle museums, other scenic points of interests, winding rides to good food, and the such.
To the other members question about searching for routes close to a point of interest, I was thinking about this and I wonder if it's possible to search within a gpx route for a gps coordinate close to what the person is searching for?
For example I have a route that I call the "PA Tail of the Dragon", not as good as the original Tail of the Dragon down South but it does has some nice twisty roads. I also have another route that is called "Skeeter's BBQ" that actually shares some of the other routes roads and the two destinations are about 30-40 minutes apart.
So if I wanted to search a library of routes for Shamokin Dam, PA then I would get a hit on both of these routes as the dam and is close by in each route. Does that make sense?
You would need to be able to convert the search term into a GPS coordinate and the user would have to set a max range, then parse through the gpx files for a match. I imagine this would take some decent computer power to scale up though.
Not to pile on with additional ideas, but is there a way to generate thumbnails when you mouse over a route? I have to open a lot of routes to see where they are actually located. Or at a minimum, add a details/comments section to the route that can be displayed or searched by that includes the locations, point's of interests, or other key information to make identifying where the route is or goes?
Thanks,
Joe -

I had a weird issue with the questionnaire failing to go to the next page while on page two. It took several attempts and about an hour but I was finally able to complete it.
Thanks,

I’d like to be able to view a map which shows all the routes already loaded.
Whilst I appreciate it may get busy it would allow me to see if there is already a route for the area I’m interested in visiting.
Currently having to go into each route in turn is a lot of work especially if I don’t know the area so can’t figure it out by names -

I would like to see the ability to sort TrackLogs alpha/numerically by name within each folder, as already done for Tracklog Folders, route folders, and routes.
TIA
PS - LOVE the MRA Route Planner. Thank you. -
@Jd-Price Firstly, I don't think you posted this in the right topic. This topic is about the RouteXpert Library provided by MRA, not your own routes/tracklogs/etc.
Secondly, for me sorting works just as well for tracklogs as it does for routes, so I'm not sure what your are talking about? Just click on the "Name" column heading to sort by name (clicking again switches between ascending and descending order).
