Audio cuttet via Bluetooth
-
It's a frustrating issue indeed.
We verified that we do everything correctly (in theory)
I've delayed the start of the audio instructions by 1 second if you are connected to Android Auto but Android Auto almost seems to ignore this.
As users also indicate, the behavior differs depending on if you are listening to the car radio or to spotify. But we don't know what you are listening to.
We simply communicate to Android:- MyRoute-app wants priority
- Please "duck" (lower the volume of) other apps
- Wait 1 second (if connected to Android Auto) otherwise we don't add an extra wait
- Speak the instruction
- Tell the OS we are finished so other audio can gain priority again
This is how it should work and how it works well for a lot of users.
The whole ecosystem of Android, the amount of different (bluetooth) configurations, Flutter as development platform and our priorities simply don't help in getting this solved

@Corjan-Meijerink, Indeed, the 1 second pause did seem to help, but it is just not enough, for my specific case I mean. You absolutely cannot introduce a longer pause everyone not having this problem
My theory, not being held back by any knowledge, is that some AA devices simply do not honour the "wants priority" command, but listen to audio (voice) itself and decide (too late) to duck for themselves.the behavior differs depending on if you are listening to the car radio or to spotify.
Yes, but that is quite logical. When playing spotify (or anything else) from your phone, the media channel is continuously open. The phone ducks spotify, and not AA.

In scenic for instance, I have 2 seconds audio delay and it works perfect.

-
Remark: this happens even, if the iPhone is directly connected to Bluetooth headphones without CP or AA
-
@Haug, thanks for this. This proves that not only MRA is struggling with this problem...
@Corjan-Meijerink, what do you think about this? -
I've this problem also. Already for a while. It was introcduced in one of the latest 4.** version.
My headset did not change. The software of the headset did not change. The settings of my headset did not change.
The android auto setup did not change (built-in Honda Goldwing). The software of the Goldwing did not change.
The Android phone did not change.But...
Offcourse there where severall software updates on my phone. MRA, Android Auto app, others apps. When i play Spotify or other media, the audio of MRA is not cut of at the front. But if MRA is only source of audio. Then the first word or words (about 0.5-1 sec of text) is cut off.
This behaviour is in my situation very stable. -
In the 5.0.1 update coming week it will be possible to configure your own audio delay

-
One remark: it has nothing to do with AA oder CarPlay, it’s even if you connect your iPhone directly via bluetooth without any CarPlay or android auto.

@Haug, Probably, but only when your head unit is doing the audio ducking of music playing from the head unit itself.

@Con-Hennekens I never hear Musik during motorcycling, I just listen to my boxer

@Haug, Sometimes I do, only when driving alone. But that is not the point. I don't use AA on the bike. I do in my car. No boxer sounds te prefer there

@Con-Hennekens
I use chigee with CarPlay but as I wrote, it has nothing to do with CP because the sound goes not via CarPlay and the cut of the voice is there, when contacted via Bluetooth to a headset or even to my Autoradio -

It happens not AA specifically indeed, but when an audio headend has its own failing logic for when to lower its music channel in favor of instructions from your phone, instead of trusting the priority commands of the connected equipment. So you are correct, it also happens with other then AA connections.
Most important thing: has it been solved for your specific setup?

Hello MRA User,
I have the Problem, that Audio commands via bluetooth a cuttet at beginning. When I use Audio Output via the iPhone speaker, everything works fine.
For sure it has to do with Delay to the Bluetooth device.
On other Apps you can set up a Delay for Bluetooth Audio.
Anybody Else with this Problem?
Thanks
Günter@Haug Yes I also noticed cut voice prompts. It starts saying something, but the cuts of in the middle of it
