GPX1.2 & Garmin Tread
-
The latest Tread update 3.01.27 for iOS now does not calculate GPX1.2 again. The previous version did.
Has anyone else noticed this and discovered a workaround? I have logged a ticket both through Tread mapping issues and Garmin customer support. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
I realise this is probably more of a Garmin issue, but it involves an MRA specific file.
Thank you.

The only file transfer that works 100% of the time is manually copying the GPX file to your Garmin device. Tread has and always will be a potential problem. It's not what you want to hear, but the reality of the situation.

@john-s-parry yes, you’re right and I do copy files on to my SD card. 1.2 files still work that way without being corrupted by Tread. I’ve checked and even though what syncs to Tread looks wrong, the route in the XT2 calculates and remains true.
It’s another string to the bow that has snapped. Again!

Works fine here, no problems

@mtc-zeilberg are GPX1.2 files still being calculated by Tread for you? If so, are both your apps fully up to date?
I've logged a ticket here and with Garmin who made me jump through several hoops before they would investigate.

I'd be extremely surprised if you get any help from Garmin in this instance. The reason is that GPX1.2 format is not an industry standard and, as far as I'm aware, proprietary to MRA who created it around 2019 to better work with Garmin devices.
For reference, GPX1.1 is an industry standard created about 20 years ago.

@danny-1d if I’ve understood you correctly, it is the other way round for me. All was working perfectly but now Tread will not calculate a GPX1.2 route. If I put the route onto the Zumo SD card, it works perfectly and is not recalculated by Tread.
The latest Tread update seems to be the problem. I am in contact with Garmin who are working on my ticket. Nothing back from MRA yet other than an acknowledgment.

@stevedo-6-0 I can hope and without asking, I we might not know. It’s not a showstopper but would be nice to get back.
I’m aware of the history of GPX1.2 and the standards so can maybe expect to be fobbed off but you never know.

Agree, no harm in asking

This thread was started in English, why do you insist in responding in foreign? I think it's very poor form and very annoying to respond in this way.
