When following the tips of Con Hennekens his reply, I notice the following.
If I open the link to my profile folder and select a route, the distance of the route is incorrect. I suspect they are listed there in Miles. See sample picture. The actual distance of the route is 257km. The time displayed is correct. The map also states The Hague in English. Furthermore, in the frame with my data the link to the route works but the button 'View route details' gives a http 404 fault.
Just reporting in case it's a bug.

Den haag staat in het Engels omdat het zo weergegeven wordt door OSM.
Hetzelfde geld voor Netherlands ipv Nederland.
Voor de aanduiding van mijlen bij de route raad ik je aan even in je profiel te kijken of de instelling "Eenheid" juist is.

Dank je Jack. In mijn profiel (Mijn account) staat het net zo aangegeven als in je plaatje. Dus Metrich (km). Had ik al naar gekeken. Vandaar dat ik het heb gemeld als mogelijke bug.

Overigens erg fijn dat er forumleden zeer snel reageren en mede MRA(ppers) op weg helpen.
Wordt zeer gewaardeerd.

I suppose that OSM uses official international names. The international name of 's Gravenhage is The Hague. The one of Amsterdam is Amsterdam and Rotterdam becomes Rotterdam (duh!) I suppose most city names do not have any official international name, and therefore the local name is used.

Bij mij geeft hij gewoon de juiste afstand weer:

Ik denk dat het browser gerelateerd is.
Excuus dat ik de browser niet eerder heb vermeld.
In Chrome (v91.0.4472.114) gaat het goed.
In Firefox (v72.0.2) wordt de afstand in Miles getoond.
Firefox config Taal is ingesteld op NL taal. Alternatieve taal is daar niet ingesteld.
In Edge (91.0.864.54) heb ik ook Miles aanduiding. Daar stond in de browser config onder Talen de optie 'Engels > 'Aanbieden om pagina's in deze taal te vertalen' aangevinkt.
Uitgevinkt en browser herstart in nieuwe sessie maar de Miles blijven staan.
OS Windows10 is volledig NL ingesteld.
MRA is ook op NL ingesteld.

Ik gebruik standaard Google Chrome, de vorige plaatjes zijn gemaakt via Chrome. Iedere browser is uptodate (laatste versie.
Verder gebruik ik Windows 10 Pro (Engels) en heb ik een Engels talige office 2019 versie

Dan moest het toch ergens aan mijzelf/mijn browsers liggen.
Heb vanmorgen in alle 3 de browsers de cache eens opgeschoond. Daarna afgesloten en opnieuw opgestart. Link in URL balk geplaatst en zie daar ...... alles nu in KM.
Bedankt voor alle moeite die jullie hebben gedaan.
