Re-calculating ... for a VERY long time
-
I have an Aoocci C6 Carplay mirror unit that is now permanently wired into my Suzuki Burgman 400. I was out on Thursday on a 140 mile round trip from home that I had programmed into MyRoute App on my pc and was running it via my iPhone 13. On several occasions, MRA started "re-calculating" and often took several minutes to do it.
I've used handheld and car satnavs as well as Google Maps on both my phone and via Carplay in the car. I'm used to satnavs "recalculating" when I take a different route or turn from the programmed route that I'm following. That takes a few seconds max. Fortunately, on Thursday, it never happened at a crucial point in the trip and I was in areas I roughly knew. Had it happened when further afield or abroad it could have made for a very difficult trip.
Not only was the recalculating taking MUCH longer, it was happening at points where there were no junctions or route changes and should have been no obstruction to the GPS signal to the phone. The phone was in an outer pocket of my his-vis outer jacket/top and plugged in via USB. I don't think it was happening by the whole Carplay unit re-booting as the Aoocci bootscreen never came up at the times it was recalculating.
I doubt it's the phone which I've had for several years and has never done anything like this before.
Any ideas? Is it more likely to be MRA, the phone, Carplay or the hardware/software on the Aoocci?

I noticed the same behavior when using “Online navigation” ,if the data connection drops and I take a different route than the one planned. That’s why I switch to “Offline navigation” when I know I’ll be traveling through areas with poor coverage.

It happened to me yesterday too, it took a long time to recalculate... I don't know why... sometimes it was definitely because there was a poor connection, but other times everything was fine... never happened before, always very fast in recalculating...

Same here, poor connection then I can understand with online routing, but on full 5G it also happened. Can take op to 5+ minutes to recalculate. Streaming of online music was no problem but maybe there is some caching onvolved
