Stability problems after 4.4.0 update
-
After the upgrade that includes improvements for power consumption with the new SDK, this seems to come at the cost of stability.
I am using an Iphone 11 (lOS 18.5) in combination with a Carplay system from Carpuride.
Problems encountered:
Getting frozen during navigation
Remaining distance and time is no longer updated during navigation
GPS location sometimes does not update properly and lags. -
To balance this topic, I too use an iPhone 11 running iOS 18.5 and I have no issues but I am not using CarPlay or a Carpuride, purely phone navigation.

@Jeroen-1s : HI Jeroen, I got the same issue with android 13 and SAMSUNG S20 FE, Carpuride W903.
I got a freeze during the first time with carplay. I restartet my Smartphone, the carpuride and it runs.
It hangs up, when motors stops at signal light and you start the engine. I think it hangs at CARPLAY to transfer the display. Because the smartphone voice will direct you. So far you can hear it. In my case the voice was very quiet. But it works, when you set volume strengt in the MRA app. And don't touch the volume buttons on your steering wheel. If you restart carplay for a short time and resume to navigation it runs. Please bag my pardon, my experience is very young and fresh. I will check these out during my holiday trip.
I tried it first for short navigation targets in Areas I know where I am. So I am able to check out the app. I used it in my car and later with my Bike.Issues:
Hang up when you start your engine at signal light.
the volume is very low, see other thread.positive:
I learned a lot of new corners in my home area.have a good ride
best regards from Westerwald

@Nick-Carthew this issues are occurring only on CarPlay and AA.
I tried as well with my iPhone 13 and AA on my car and got frozen almost every time I tried to use it. Luckily I managed to downgrade the app on my Android to 4.3.9, and I will use it as is. -
I’m having exactly the same problem with iPhone 11 and Carpuride 702B so it’s not just you. Position freezes on both the phone and the CarPlay. Resetting the route updates the location but it still doesn’t move.
But does not seem to be 200% reproducible yet.

Over the past two days, I embarked on a lengthy tour of nearly 1,000 km. It was a great opportunity to test the Myroute app again thoroughly. Unfortunately, halfway through the first day of the tour, I had to load my GPX files into TomTom Go due to many instability issues with Myroute.
- In the first few hours, the phone became very hot and slow, maps were no longer updated and navigation seemed to stop working.
- After a full reset of the device, it worked fine again for a while. However, after a while, the device started recalculating and got stuck again. The distance travelled was no longer updated and the directions were no longer accurate.
This was the point at which I finally decided to go back to TomTom Go. Myroute App is a brilliant product in terms of functionality because everything is in one ecosystem. However, stability during navigation is obviously the most important thing for me and many other drivers. You can see that TomTom has been fully developed and no longer contains any bugs, which means that, in my opinion, TomTom Go is still the best. When MyRoute is as stable as TomTom, I will be the first to switch back, but I fear that this will take some time. A lifetime subscription is still a bridge too far for me at the moment
