Stability problems after 4.4.0 update

I’m having exactly the same problem with iPhone 11 and Carpuride 702B so it’s not just you. Position freezes on both the phone and the CarPlay. Resetting the route updates the location but it still doesn’t move.
But does not seem to be 200% reproducible yet.

Over the past two days, I embarked on a lengthy tour of nearly 1,000 km. It was a great opportunity to test the Myroute app again thoroughly. Unfortunately, halfway through the first day of the tour, I had to load my GPX files into TomTom Go due to many instability issues with Myroute.
- In the first few hours, the phone became very hot and slow, maps were no longer updated and navigation seemed to stop working.
- After a full reset of the device, it worked fine again for a while. However, after a while, the device started recalculating and got stuck again. The distance travelled was no longer updated and the directions were no longer accurate.
This was the point at which I finally decided to go back to TomTom Go. Myroute App is a brilliant product in terms of functionality because everything is in one ecosystem. However, stability during navigation is obviously the most important thing for me and many other drivers. You can see that TomTom has been fully developed and no longer contains any bugs, which means that, in my opinion, TomTom Go is still the best. When MyRoute is as stable as TomTom, I will be the first to switch back, but I fear that this will take some time. A lifetime subscription is still a bridge too far for me at the moment

Since big steps have been set concerning the power drain, phones getting so hot they don't function normally anymore are largely a thing of the past. It would be good at such a time to make a screenshot of the battery usage, to be able to see which app is drawing the current. It could as well be a system app or process generating this, while you blame the MRA app. I know it is easy to think the MRA app is the culprit because that is what you are using at that moment, and it is not impossible of course, but it would be good to see proof about that, and a support ticket so they can perhaps do something about it.

Sorry to say this, but I agree with @Jeroen-1s ... I used TomTom Go last year for a Balkan Tour trip, and worked perfectly without any issues, so please stop pretending that MRA is perfect, meanwhile all these users are complaining about stability issues! I bought the app and planner (GOLD member) and I cannot use it without a downgrade to the previous version ....
I understand that there is no fix for now, even Corjan admitted this, so please stop praising MRA when someone has issues with the app ! -

In my case, its MRA. This has already been decided, and now I am waiting for the next update, maybe it will fix things ...

@Corjan-Meijerink - Hi Corjan, I will soon start another 3000 mile journey through Europe with MRA as my main navigation... and I was going to use it through CarPlay this time. Will there be an update to solve these reported problems before mid-September? If not, I'll use it on my phone as I have in previous years.
@Nick-Carthew Hi Nick, have you had any problems at all running 4.4.0 just on the iPhone?
Cheers,
Tom -
Any device that you use on the road and perform calculations consumes quite a bit of electricity which warms up the battery. I always make sure that these devices are on a motorcycle in the wind so they can cool down. It is also best to turn off all other applications to avoid heating up the battery such as Waze, Google maps, ...or other route planners.
And then it works perfectly.
You can also take aluminum cooling fins from an old music amplifier and stick them to the back of your iPhone. There are heat spreading tapes for that that stick on both sides. That is often used to transfer heat from NVMe M.2 or similar type SSD cards to the cooling fin.
These are just suggestions, up to you to work it out. Best yet is to buy a used refurbished iPhone 12,13,14 ..... It works wonderfully just as well. -

Zero problems running 4.4.0 on my iPhone 11 nor are there any problems on my wife’s iPhone SE.
All of our navigation is done offline.
