You can import favourites using the import function. Afterwards you need to open an existing route, or create a new route, then you can open the left panel's hamburger menu, and access those favourites.

      Best regards, Makro

If you mean on the fly whilst riding/driving it is possible, but not super smooth. See this thread:

@Rob-Veerman It’s in the Beta section of the forum. Perhaps @richtea999 could copy and paste it in this topic.

Ah, my apologies. Here's the meat of the discussion:

Subject: Suggestion: 'Drop a Pin' during a ride

              @richtea999
              9 Aug 2023, 21:27
Frequently during a ride you want to remember where something is, but not stop riding:

fantastic road, must remember where it was
this road is terrible, don't come down here again
what a view! Must come back another day
that pub would be a great stop next week

Pressing a button could 'drop a pin', and on you go. No need to define what it was - just remember this point.

At the end of the ride (or later, if cloud-stored) you can review the list of pins.

Trying to assign meaning to them ('good road', 'bad road' etc) from within the app - even after the ride - is probably too complex, but if they were added to the cloud-stored route, that might be a simple way to allow them to be named/edited.

But actually, our group would be very happy to have just the raw pin - literally a reminder that there was something at that point in the route, and step through the list (as a set of positions on the route map) and work it out ourselves.

@richtea999 while riding you can save your current location as favorite! 🙂

As of the next update, you can also edit favorites from the app. More on that tomorrow 😉

Another system besides favorites won’t be implemented in the near future. Might research POI usage for this but unsure how that would unfold!

Ah - very good point! That works well if parked up, thanks.

However it's 4 interactions (3-spot menu -> scroll -> Favourite location -> Yes) which takes too much concentration when rolling. 😱

Maybe the Favourites button (star) with an overlaid '+' could be shown when actively navigating, that acts as a single press 'Add favourite'.

Or maybe add a long press function to an existing button if space is just too tight?
I know long presses are a pain for users because no-one remembers them or can guess them at a later date, but then again space is at a premium.

@richtea999 hahaha exactly, it all comes down to space

You can do it like TT, one click on the street name offers you the option to save it in "my places" or (I forgot the other already, something to report about the map or speed) 🙄

I like the idea of a simple way to add a pin for either a good or a bad location.

I used to do this on my old Zumo, which required me to give all new waypoints a name. This was too complicated while riding, so I entered a few random letters for a bad location (road with pot holes, speed bumps etc). In the opposite situations, a good location, I entered a few identical letters. Later I would rename those to something meaningful.

So, if you are still considering the add a pin feature, you definitely have my support.

                  Best regards, Makro

@Makro Hii am more thinking about pre marking potential places to visit I am touring France for 5 weeks in a camper with no set plan i can do this on my TT Go camper which is probably what i will do, but i am gradually going away from using the Sat nav to using MRA on the phone so it would be nice to be able to do this on the phone

Well that's simply creating Favorites prior to leaving home, isn't it? You can do that in the WEB planner (import favorites or create routes)

                      Best regards, Makro
