Can't calculate route
-
I am almost at my wits end with this.
All the relevant offline maps are downloaded, all my routes have been synced but I still get" unable to calculate route". I'm then told to go online then immediately to go offline!
After several minutes the route will start working but if I deviate from the planned route I immediately get the unable to calculate route message.
I have twice had to resort to Google maps to get me out of trouble today. This is not what I want from a navigation app. I am tech savvy and very experienced with maps and navigation. This is just a mess . -
@Roger-Doidge well that is interesting.
Best is to create a support ticket and attach you logs (longpress the version number at the bottom of you account page).Ideally you turned on the offline mode yourself but you did that already. So indeed, strange issue and needs some investigation.
Quite often we see that actually an offline map was missing but I believe thatโs not the case.

@Roger-Doidge, chances are you are navigating a routetrack instead of a route? Tracks can only be calculated online, even with offline maps. Therefore it asks you to go online, but if there is no internet connection available it will ask you to go offline. That works fine for routes (with waypoints) but not for tracks.

@Con-Hennekens I don',t know what a routetrack is.How might i have created it and what can I do about it?
-
@Roger-Doidge, a routetrack is generated by exemply if you use curvy options in the app. Only the straight line does geretae a route and not a track. Tracks can also exist in the webplanner, when you upload routes as routetrack instead of route. In the app this symbol indicates a track:
-
@Con-Hennekens Where is that symbol located for a track in the App? Not seen it before and wondering where I should be looking. Sorry if it is really obvious.
-
@Dave-J-0, no problem If you go into the routes menu, you will see routes with icons like cars and helmets for routes planned in car and motorcycle mode. If there is a routetrack between them, it will caary the icon above.
Don't mix them up with the tracks in the tracklog tab, those are tracklogs recorded while driving. That's something different.

@Con-Hennekens Brill. Thank you. Happy with tracklogs but I had not seen the symbol before. I now know when I see it.
