Route recording on CarPlay.
-
Hi there,
Howto record a route on your CarPlay device? I installed a CarPlay device on my motorcycle but was unable to start and save actual driven routes.....no "start recording" button or anything....let alone a save button......Is this functionality not active via CarPlay??

@Jerry-Brok-Wacky In the Nav settings under functional you can set for routes to commence recording automatically - the track recording line is shown on the CarPlay screen. However, any other track recording functions for stop or pause etc have to be done from your phone.

@Dave-J-0 Okay that is too bad. Why not make all functions (navigational-wise) available on the CarPlay screen? It makes using your phone on the bike, not needed anymore. It's not that difficult i presume to make that "start record" button available on the CarPlay app!??

@Jerry-Brok-Wacky the problem is Apple restricts what the developers can and cannot put in CarPlay. The MRA Dev Team will over time include more functions but not all the functions that the phone has.
Put entries under the suggestions area and the Dev’s will respond in due course. Not sure what features they are looking to include and what timeline.

Many would wish it was that easy Some people consider AA/CP to be a mirror to the phone screen, but that is way to simplistic. In Fact AA/CP are applications on their own made and limited by Google/Apple, merely getting input from an app on the phone.
