Route format missing when saving as a gpx 1.1 (route, track, POI) file?

Hi all. I use a PC and a TomTom 550. I usually create a route with a few waypoints and download it to my TomTom as a gpx 1.1 (route, track, POI) file. Now I’m sure, in the past, the file downloads onto my TomTom in two formats, track and route. As I prefer the route format, I usually use that and delete the track.
I’ve just formed several routes for my next trip, but for some reason ONLY tracks are downloaded onto the TomTom. The route format never gets downloaded. I’ve tried saving, using the connector, sim card, and dragging and dropping…. but always only tracks are saved.
After many attempts, I have saved using the. itn format and that seems to have saved as a route. I guess that’s ok, but I’m sure the .gpx 1.1 (route, track, POI) file used to save as both track and route formats on the TomTom. Is there something I’m missing?
Thanks. -
@Paul-Irons-0 No, a gpx file in a TomTom will only give you a track. For a route you need to save as .itn then upload it from your PC to your TomTom via a usb cable.

@Nick-Carthew Ha! yes, I realise that now...I must have been living in an alternate reality when I thought I could do it. Thanks for replying
