New MRA Mobile app

@nick-carthew Nick, thanks for clarifying that. Though it seems to me that word "app" gets used way too often even when it should not be. that to make gets out the confusion. If everyone simply followed that proper names confusion would be way less.
You are right and to avoid confusion I will certainly try not to use any terms other than those mentioned above.
But the designation APP is not specifically intended for applications for mobile devices (or web-based applications).
APP is an abbreviated form of the word "application." -

Wish we really would get clear names on what is what - now I cannot make heads or tails out of it anymore.
Why not just use the word "app" to only Android & Apple related?
The preferred reference to MyRoute-app is now MRA
MRA RoutePlanner
MRA Mobile app
MRA Navigation appIt's not that difficult!

There really is not as much confusion as it seems. Why would anyone think an app that DOES NOT carry Navigation in the name has anything to do with navigation, While MRA Navigation always has been the navigation app?
So if I understand you correctly, MRA Navigation, not carrying any reference to "mobile", is not a mobile app ?

I think it's the people calling everything MRA (while it is not) are causing there own confusion. Then you might be in the ideal position to get a lot of people out of their confusion with what follows below...

I guess what's now to be called "MRA RoutePlanner" used to be called MyRoute-app before, or isn't this correct ?
Supposing it is (correct), then why does my browser still calls it MyRoute-app ? See screenshot below, taken from my current edit screen.

APP is an abbreviated form of the word "application."@jack-van-tilburg that will not work Jack. Remember we had via points and shaping points. Now they start to use the tetm training points onstead. What i mean is, soon the new convention Nick is promoting will not be newenough and some other naming will come.

But If I may give MRA (the company...) a suggestion: To link the route planners on different platforms together, it would perhaps be better to call "MRA Mobile app" "MRA Mobile Planner". Especialla since "App" already is in the MRA shortage. But now I am probably adding to he confusion -

Yeah, that's true, but there are a lot of disappointed comments about that too. Instead of an update to the planner that makes it no planner anymore, they would better have it made into a separate MRA Tracking App or something... I have to admit that a lot of decisions in the MRA development are rather erratic.

@con-hennekens I think the planning functionality is covered by the website "MRA Routeplanner" which works fine on mobile devices as well, so I can see the benefit for MRA going forward, not having to maintain that functionality for the Mobile app. I believe the functionality to export routes to other apps/devices will/should be restored to the MRA Mobile app, however.
Personally, I have barely used the Mobile app for either purpose (planning maybe once or twice, sharing with other apps/devices once) in the past and I've never used it to track a route or add photos, so I've deleted it from my phone for now. I'll just use the website (99,9% on PC, 0,1% on mobile I expect).

@herko-ter-horst, I agree, and like you I rarely use the app indeed. The most meaningful function is likely the roundtrip generator, that would better have been integrated in the navigation app anyway. On the other side, how hard can it be for the mobile app to show the MRA website in an embedded window inside the app? That would be a nicer solution then to tell users to use the browser. But I am probably overlooking some plausible reasons.

Hi everyone! Thank you for your feedback.
I've made a new thread under announcements where I let some of you know that we're pushing an update right now that should resolve almost every concern everyone has had so far.
kind regards,
Timo
