@Wolfgang-Horn Presumably you have the 'Navigation Settings>Functional>Offline navigation' switch set to on?

If you open the menu in the app where you can set this, you will see the sign on the left and the text on the right. Now the text says "Voice instructions off" with the unlined sign through it. Then voice instructions are on. It sounds like it, but I find it confusing that the text is on "voice instructions off" when it is "on", must be just me. Times suck to get this right. Other than that it works well. Yep, I get what you mean. And it can cause confusion. The doll is the status and the text is the option.

@Stijn-a last time I was out, I downloaded a GPS speedometer (called Speedometer) which seemed to have good reviews and not too bad ads. It can run in a small window over top of your active window. I ran this while navigating with MRapp. It seemed to improve the responsiveness of MRapp and did a better job of following on the road. Big improvement around corners. I really don't know why this is and suspect it won't help with battery usage.

@Reinhard-32 I do the same thing as Reinhard and on top of that in my case I don't use any restrictions as well in MRA. In the XT recalculating is turned off

If you've already been accepted in to MRA's Apple beta program you can uninstall / re-install either version at will - so there's no panic: If you want the beta, download it from the TestFlight app If you want the public version download it from the App Store To go from beta -> public: you have to actively delete the beta, and you'll lose your local data as Rob says - offline maps, settings, etc. To go from public -> beta: open Testflight and Install and it overwrites the public one (Testflight will ask you first), and that usually preserves the local data, but it's not guaranteed. You have the best of both worlds - but not at the same time!

@Drabslab and others I seem to have fallen foul of the MRA Police, or perhaps that should be vigilantes. Excuse me for not hanging on every word that may or may not have been written and posted on this forum. I expressed my views and details of my user experience with the express aim of informing the developers of the Navigation part of the App of the problems I experienced. Does it matter that others have already expressed the same or similar views/issues? Or does it reinforce what others have already said? Will I carry on using MRA as a planning tool? Yes Will I attempt to navigate with it? No. Will I come back and try the Navigation at some point in the future? Perhaps. But if I can transfer my routes from MRA to Garmin and get a far better navigation experience…….. Yes, I was using CarPlay. But we’re my problems purely related to that, or to problems inherent in the Navigation app? The latter certainly, with the issue of the power drain caused by the use of Here mapping. (But I learnt about that on UKGSER and not on this forum!) Will I visit the MRA Forums again? Unlikely. Too much sniping. Will I continue to use the UKGSER forum for help and advice on using MRA? Definitely. A much friendlier and helpful type of person inhabits that particular forum. And, addressing Drabslab’s final comment:no, I was not referring to anything posted on this forum, but to an email received from an MRA representative.

@Scott-Horton This is because the POI has been added manually via the manage tab and not added via the MRA POI library. The option to use the POI as a waypoint is only available for POIs that come from the library. My advice re: not using a POI as a route point still stands. Just click on the road (before) by the POI and add a route point. [image: 1690710988146-img_2366.jpeg]

Hi Con, Thanks for this clarification. So it seems I should have either signed onto Starbucks's WiFi or switched to offline before resuming. I'll know for the next time. It would great if the developers could somehow make the switch to off-line mode automatically when asked to resume an A to B route if there's no Internet rather than the routing just not working. @Vincent-Curren said in Could Not Calculate Route (after stop): Am I right to conclude that if I use the "stop navigate" function when I (for instance) go to a coffee shop, when I resume navigation, the app needs a good Internet connection to reload the route and it's not just pulling the route I want to resume from memory? A quick test shows me that this is indeed the case. BUT if you switch to offline navigation in the settings, it WILL be able to calculate. Hence my suggestion the dev to try offline before pushing the message. @Doug-Robinson said in Could Not Calculate Route (after stop): based on the picture above, it appears you are doing an A to B route and not a pre-planned route with waypoints. I believe you do need Internet because it uses an online map and not the downloaded Here maps. The app definitely uses the offline HERE maps for offline calculations. It does seem to have trouble to start an A to B route offline through the resume option though, if that destination was set during online use. I fail to see why. But if you close that option and search for the destination again, it has no problem calculating a A to B route offline. And a destination chosen in offline mode also works fine when resumed. This quirk is good to know. I'll try resuming in offline mode next time I'm in this situation. Thanks, Vinnie

It's definitely an OSM problem. Here are the two routes overlaid (which is a 'Gold' feature in the tools, so unfortunately not available to you) with OSM in blue and HERE in black: [image: 1690469625069-screenshot-2023-07-27-at-15.51.04.png] I'm not trying to up-sell, but you might want to consider Gold if you're planning do a lot of route work. The 'Compare route with' option is a good way to double-check the route is going to work on all devices, and not slightly iffy! (You can compare with TomTom too.)

@M-Schrijver Looking at the progress made by MRA the past year alone... they will definitively get there. And bear in mind, the complete MRA package is probably now already the best complete travel route preparation and riding package available, and still iumproving

@John-4a I think you're confused. In the previous app (the app Navigation), you also couldn't insert extra waypoints in an A-B route. However, you can create a route with the mobile app by using the web version (Routelab). In Routelab, you can create a route from point A to point B and add your own waypoints.
