Thank you for this update! The option to follow the route as a track and automatically skip waypoints finally allows me to properly navigate my routes created for TomTom with the MyRoute app. This has made the MyRoute app my favorite navigation system.

Exactly how I intended it to be. We force track navigation as it works great now and it's the only sensible choice for OSM / TomTom routes

I saw these threads on high battery usage and wanted to chime in. I'm trialling MRA and just got back from my first ride with navigation. It used 70% of my phone's battery in about 90 minutes - still extremely high. I'm using MRA 4.3.4 on a Samsung A52S running Android 14.

@Con-Hennekens said in Explanation + video route navigation versus track navigation (update 4.3.4.): @Bouke-Ent, POI will still be visible. Gas stations too, but you will not be able to add them to your route-track (because it is no route anymore). thanks for info. Bouke

@Michel-van-Hagen-MRA-Founder [image: 1730274483859-img_8512.jpeg] So the question when should the good idea be implemented "Suppolation to improve route navigation" s. Blog Good morning Michael, A question about the timeline in this project, because yesterday there was spontaneously exactly that again. Quickly click to the goal and go, only my friend and so it goes probably many others do not know exactly this difference. Route = 1 straight course Track = Track 2,3,4 Rich In Curves Many also probably very many customers of the MRA Think you drive at curves (2,3,4) also a route. Who's reading a manual? This is what happened: The click was a track = track (2) to the goal and it came as it had to come, he came off the track without consciously doing it and he was asked to drive back for an infinitely long time via the announcement and screen. He was frustrated and unhappy because he was leading in front. After a spontaneous gas stop, I drove at the front again, but I tried to explain it to him briefly, he grabbed the helmet and just shook his head ... Even in the evening with beer it has led to a longer discussion. ... …

@Bouke-Ent I am with you, some users have houndrets of route in several files and need only a few for the next vacation, week, whatever. But it is as it is, some prefer this, some not and MRA trust in their way, which is sometimes a bit different to usual common practices in computer based handling. So what, the advantages of MRA predominate up to now, even with some frustration coming up and unexpected reactions. Yeterday I am back home and made my standard test and I had a lot of problems with verbal announcements of the POIs with 335. Informations are announced by random. No preannouncement but confirmation. preannouncement of POI1 but confirmation „You reached no 1“ when I reached the Sp 2, nothing was called for WP 5. An i folow the roules for announcemts and before 4.3. it works on the same route. I am meanwhile also frustrated to write about this and stop here. Regard to your concern My solution for easy access to my routes I want to use next session I create a folder „AA routes for use“ which is by alphabetic order the first file on the screen. Those routes I need will be copied in this folder with the same name and the appendix -copy- they get automatically. The originals stays in their folder and when the session is over it is easy to delete only the copies.

@Benny-Van-de-Velde The only way automatic recalculation might mess up your routes is when waypoints would be skipped automatically without reason. This can be turned off entirely Deactivating recalculations completely cannot be turned off.
