I think that if what you're suggestion was indeed that simple, they would have grabbed that possibility a long time ago.
I have trust in the devs and there willingness to do the best for the app and the users.
Whatever they decide is fine by me -
Maybe the app’s developers could reach out to Google and ask why it’s taking so disproportionately long and if there’s anything that can be done about it.
They simply need to make the app file available for download on the MyRoute-app website; while it is true that this was only a minor update, had it been a critical fix, the delay in availability for Android users would have been unacceptable.
@ginogino, sideloading apps can create a hose of problems concerning the current (not yet recognized) update over an PlayStore initiated version, and also future PlayStore updates over an unrecognized sideloaded version. Also sideloading needs some (not difficult) actions to allow "unknown sources", which in turn makes android vulnerable if not reversed.
I think if MRA went that way, we could expect a new forum category that no-one would really want to look into
Let's just hope Google will better themselves... -
fwiw, it hit my Google Play account yesterday and I was able to update. It did fix the problem with the auto switching between day/night modes. Unfortunately, my other problems remain unresolved.

@Jeff-Causey it was only a minor fix looking at the day night feature

@Marinus-van-Deudekom That's what I figured. The MRA support person I was working with only had that patch being issued as a possible solution for my issues.

Greetings to the development team. I’ve noticed that when I assign a color to a route to make it visible on the map, the second connected device doesn't retain that same color. Is it possible to fix this with an update?

I figured it depended on the devices. Thanks for all the work you and your team do; I’m curious to see future updates for both the app and the web route planner—the latter being the one that really needs an update. Keep up the good work.

@Con-HennekensMein Vorschlag ist so einfach, dass andere Hersteller ihm folgen. Und wer die Datei direkt von der Website des App-Herstellers herunterladen möchte (die ja sicher sein sollte), weiß, was er tut. Außerdem gibt es neben Google Play noch andere Online-Stores für Android.
