@Herko-ter-Horst said in Unsure: I think those offline maps will also be available to the 'free' part of the app (i.e. not just the paid Navigation part). I think not... The Navigation Next maps are Here maps, the maps that the free Mobile app can do something with are OSM maps. That's not really interchangeable. If you enter the planning mode of the mobile app, you are actually using an embedded browser-window to the MRA website. THERE the Here map wil be usable to plan routes, even if you only have a paid subscription to Navigation. But the the other paid extras (TomTom, toolbox features etc) will not be available. All this IMHO.

@stuart-marritt There is a possibility to switch on a confirmation for adding new point - there is a question displayed then and you can choose NO. That was the best solution for me.

@Manfred-Schiess Routes are not calculated on the basis of applicable speeds, but by a speed category (e.g. 30 zone = category 11-30 km/h - 50 zone = 31-50 km/h). But it is also possible that you have situations where your 100 km/h is allowed but practically cannot be achieved. It is therefore also possible that you can encounter 61-80 km/h in a 100 zone, which in turn affects the route calculations.

@Nick-Carthew Thank you, Nick. I meant to put it there, started typing and then forgot. I have picked up the Route Expert colour tip in the briefing paper. Richard

@Ray-Woodhams Yes, that is true, you can use the here map to create your routes, but compare them with the TomTom option in the Toolbox. It is easier to create them in the TomTom map

@Giuseppe-Marino - Steve Jarrett, a member of the MyRoute community posted some very helpful information on this subject late last year, I am sure he wouldn't mind me referring you to his post, as that could answer the issue you have regarding what export format to use. Hope it helps -Tony https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/2734/gpx-1-1-vs-1-2-simple-explanation

as one of those upset when the planning disappeared from the app, it is an important function for me. No, when I have PC available I will always use the web app. But when I am out on on a tour and only have a phone, I want to have easy access to planning to change my routes. But still, good work guys for great tool!

@Con-Hennekens yes I use that too. But not all countrys have that. And for safety reasons I like to know if it is paved or not. The information is available because you can choose for using only paved roads.

Checked battery usage of both my OnePlus 6T and iPhone 14 when MRA Next is not used for navigation but just idle in the background. With "location always on" on both smartphones, Android does not use any power from the battery while iOS uses a lot. With "location on only when using the app" both do not use any power.

@foxontherun Can you login currently without a social media account? If so, that is proof that it's completely optional. If you choose to enable logging in with a social media account, then the username/password login stops working.
