Keeping routes from my route app identical with my GARMIN ZUMO XT2
-
Hi fellow riders. I own about Africa twin and after I got lost in some mountains I purchased a Garmin ZUMO XT2. So now I use car play with MRA always on and also I copy and use the routes in my Garmin device. So as a newbie pleas try to guide me as simple as you can in the following questions...
- Which map of mar route planner should I use in order my routes from my route app and garmin XT2 be identical? I put some shaping points in order to force the route to pass from where I want.
- What mode should my routes be when I export them from MRA to garmin XT2? GPX 1.1 or sth else?
- Can someone explain to me simply the difference between track and route? I saw some guys projecting track with a fat line and route with a slimmer line?
- Should I turn off auto recalculation at my Garmin XT2 and if so why? Cause sometimes I deviate bit for toilet or some rest.
Thanks for your patience and please reply me if possible in simple words cause I'm a newbie. Cheers to all

Use the Here-map
Use gpx 1.1
Route = Calculated between the routepoints, Track has only start- and end point
Turn recalculation off when driving a planned route, make the track visible in the Zumo and go back to the route via as you can see the track on your screen. or when the route points are on a technical good place on the road, you can set recalculation on. -
Thank you Hans I'll give it a try. By the way does Here map has hybrid view cause I like to see the terrain when I design a route..By the way MRA route planner is top I think in designing routes And planning trips
