Silverfox H1+ long-press

Sent Corjan answer to Riku, and mentioned B8J and C1 common problem too. Thanks!

Thanks @Quim-N
It doesn't really bother me, I just tap the compass button twice and return to Dynamic view. -

@Corjan-Meijerink I know you do all you can to fix problems. In this case I’d say It takes twi to tango.
Keep up you excellent work -
I'm already emailing with Riku about this
@Corjan-Meijerink Riku fron Silverfox sent me a couple of firmware updates to test them and now all buttons short and long-press do work fine.
I've tested it through DMD buttons app, in F2 mode via bluetooth (wich is the setting needed for MuRouteApp) and it returns these codes:
Center (•) short 31, long 32
Minus (-) short 69, long 29
Plus (+) short 70, long 30Now the only issue seems to be on MyRoute's side, because not all button functions work in all menus and sub-submenus. This is what i've found:
Navigation view:
(•) toggles compass modes
Long (•) skip waypoint
(-) zoom out
Long (-) does nothing [should toggle timer modes?]
(+) zoom in
Long (+) enters menuNavigation menu:
(-) exits menuMap view
(•) compass
(-) zoom out
(+) zoom in
Long (+) enters menuMain menu:
(•) enters item
(-) exits menu
Long (+) also exits menuAccount menu and sub-menus:
(-) exits menu
Long (+) also exits menuOther menus:
-no enter, no exit (e.g no way to select or to initiate route)
-no way to access back arrow (on top left) nor other top screen items with joystick arrowsThank you!

The new firmware is indeed working correct! Resolving the issue of long pressing also submitting a short press function
Nice that Riku fixed it that quickly!
I will confirm that we support the new firmware. He will then probably update it on his website for others to download. I could not find any issues in our app apart from the fact that we don't offer full app support for bluetooth controllers.

@Corjan-Meijerink I understand there is no need, and may be rather dangerous, to navigate all menus through a bluetooth controller, but could it be possible just to associate (-)button long-press to toggle timer modes? It is the only function I fount not working with Silverfox in navigation mode.
Thanks!

I've had contact with Riku from Silverfox. On my request he made an update for the H1 trying to solve the long press issue. Unfortunately something went wrong on his side witch makes the update unable to use. He will come back to me once the problem is solved. I did not want to take the chance of my upcoming trip to be spoild

@Quim-N I just tested the C1 in navigation mode to toggle the ETA and that works as expected. I assume it works with all SilverFox controllers.
Are you actually driving a route with waypoints? Otherwise the function just does not work on MRA side

@Corjan-Meijerink Yes but for the H1 the update was not applicable. It seems that the update will cause serious problems to the controller that can only be resolved with the developers tools, witch we don't.

@Corjan-Meijerink Do you know if Riku will be making the updated firmware available publicly? I’ve just checked the SilverFox website and I couldn’t see any updates.
As you know, I have the B8J and although the longpress triggering the short press command doesn’t really bother me, but if there was an easy fix by updating the firmware I’d like to be able to do it.Cancel this request, I’ve just read your new update post

@Corjan-Meijerink I just repeated the warning I received from Riku and he concluded that the C1 and H1 react different on the update

@Nick-Carthew you still need the firmware from SilverFox. For sure he’ll distribute it when ready for all controllers.

@Corjan-Meijerink I always navigate routes with a lot of shaping and some via points. That's why I find ETA toggle interesting.
After your comment I've done more navigation testing, in my 'Silverfox H1+' on a 'DMD 865x' tablet, and I found that I'm just able to toggle ETA modes with short-pressing (+)button in F1 mode via cable connection (!), but that's useless because in that setting nothing else works in MRA (the proper setting being F2 mode via Bluetooth).
I can't remember where I read that ETA toggle function was usually thriggered by long-pressing (-), but maybe I'm wrong.
If you say that C1 works fine, then I think there must be differences between C1, H1+, etc. and if so this could be solved by either unifying buttons coding between them or creating different Silverfox profiles in MRA settings. Or you'd better check this talking directly with Riku, because all this issue is in fact like a blackbox for me.
I'm sorry for bothering you too much with this matter, and thanks for your attention.
