New update! (4.3.7) - Track navigation improvements and CP / AA zooming

Hi everyone!

A new update is coming your way!
This one includes many much desired changes and improvements.
It's not the biggest update of all but definitely one that will make you happy

Track navigation improvements

A lot could go wrong when navigating a track. Either from your own library or a generated scenic route / roundtrip. No real images to add for this but rest assured that the stability of track navigation has been improved a lot! No more unexpected detours, no more recalculations straight to the finish and no more frustration. Initial results are very positive but more of my time will be dedicated in finetuning the track navigation.

CarPlay changes

Zoom buttons are available on screen!

While navigating, they are hidden under a submenu to preserve space for future buttons When entering the zoom interface, the topdown mode is enabled and you can change the zoom level. After closing that menu, the last used camera modus before entering the zoom interface is used again

Android Auto

Same as for CarPlay!

Besides that however another nice feature is added! You can now pan the map

When you have a touchscreen, simply drag the screen.

If you do not have a touchscreen, a button will appear to enable the pan interface.

Note: dragging the map is not supported on CarPlay

Other changes

Fullscreen mode is now a preference (Navigation settings > screen layout)
Improved zoom limits in CarPlay / Android Auto (sometimes you were zoomed in way too much)
Updated HERE and Flutter SDK
Minor other tweaks

What's next?

We will process all user feedback and keep improving the app. Besides that, we are working on a major overhaul of the start page of the app and the general UI / UX. We expect a first beta in this month but public release is unsure due to licensing negotiations.

How can I switch back to 4.3.6?

@Corjan-Meijerink Hello Corjan, battery of Active Tab 3 goes empty within minutes by 20 %. Screen flickers and start screen is not showing any map after update. Emptied cache but no change.

So glad this option had been added. As an Android user I user navigation buttons. It's great to have them back.

@JP-d Might be but with Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 the App is currently not working. Navigation is working but did not tested it further. What is definitly not working is the start screen. There is no map. Reinstalled it but same result. Hope it will be fixed soon. Regards Thomas

What is the difference between enabling and disabling this setting? The i-text says "Fullscreen mode: Hides notifications and the bottom app bar"

A friend has problem on his Android Phone.

Black screen and this.

@Léon-Hassing if this setting is on I can't see the top (Status bar) on my phone this is where you see how much charge you left, 4g, the time and any notification icons.

On my Android you can use gestures to navigate swiping or you can use buttons (back, home and recent apps).

If full screen is on I can't see the top status bar nor the navigation buttons.

@JP-d Thank you for your response. That may be the reason why I didn't see any differences. I always use Android Auto and not my phone.

More Information to my post from yesterday.

App Version: 4.3.7 385
Phone Samsung A51 4G
Android Version: 13 One U.I 5.1

No maps seen and tracking does not work.

Hi, I have testend it on a different tablet.
Samsung Tap A running on Android 14, UI 6 and then it is working.
So the problem is I think Android 13 or UI 5.

Hope it wil be fixed because the Tablet active 3 is integrated in my bike!

Can I add to this, since updating to this version on my Android Samsung phone yesterday, I no longer have a map display at all. All menus are there, as far as I can see, but no maps and hence no live tracking.

What has gone wrong, all was fine until I did the update.

My Samsung is an older S9 'Edge' running Android version 10.

Today a ride with the 4.3.7 version.
This version looks more and stable and smooth when riding.
But i don't see much diference in the autozoom functioniality. It stays more or less on the same zoom level regardless the driving speed.
Is this correct?

I confirm... The zoom only works manually, not in relation to speed or intersections. Yet it is active in the options. It should be fixed to avoid zooming manually on a motorcycle. I would add that there is not always a warning of major slowdowns on the highways. It even recommends detours, for major slowdowns, where there are none. Still needs to be fixed a bit.
