Only a few things to make this my day to day GPS app!!
-
Hi.
Really love MRA. Route/track creation, ease of use, nice interface etc..
I would really like to have my current speed/speed limits, street names displayed on the map regardless if I am navigating or not. I want to use this app as a day to day situational awarness but this stops me. I do not see why this cannot be displayed as the app knows where I am
Automatic track recording is great but I wish it would stop when I finish the track/route. Kind of pain to have to also terminate the recording.
On last suggestion: Please make the route/track finish and go back to normal map/ready to navigate again when I reach my destination. I have use this on trips only to tell me to go back to the hotel once I got there, checked in and riding to the restaurant! Lol!
Thank you for all the great work! I have tried several and this one is my favorite! Just trying to suggest ease of use improvements!
Cheers!

@Andre-Trudeau Totally agree. I love having the map up just as a way to see up coming intersections and road layouts even when not on a "route".

The so-called 'free driving' mode, where speed information is also displayed, has already been submitted as a feature request and is on the backlog.

There are both proponents and opponents of this approach within this forum. Personally, I like how it is now. Especially when you're searching for a parking spot in a busy city center and need to drive past your destination. With your request, navigation would stop. In my case, navigation would simply continue. Having to manually stop navigation is no issue at all. I have to take my phone out of the holder anyway.
But as I mentioned earlier, there are just as many supporters as there are opponents of the current navigation method.

Perfect! Can't wait for this to be implemented!
As for the Navigation terminating at the end of it, I see your point. Perhaps having an option for the automatic close behavior could be introduced?
Is there any plan on also terminating/saving the recording when a route is done? We can automatically start it when we start navigation but need to terminate it manually even when we close the navigation.
Again, thank you for all your effort!
Cheers!

Not to my knowledge...

@Andre-Trudeau Thanks for the nice words! We work quite hard to implement all user requests (where possible) while maintaining a well functioning app!
Free driving as mentioned is something that we will add in the future. Not the highest priority as people most often are driving a route.
The next update will include the following:
- Automatic pausing track when stopping navigation
- Automatic stopping navigation when reaching the destination. User is given the option to resume navigating (as is now) but when no choice is entered, the app will stop navigating

@Corjan-Meijerink Thank you for the reply!
Looking forward for the update!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers!

@Corjan-Meijerink I dont like your choice for stop navigation. If I missed my destination I don't want to be fidling with the navigation while I'm trying to figure out a route back to me destination. If I'm wearing gloves I may not be able to tap the button to continue. I would prefer if the pop up option was to stop navigation not continue it.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I am building a custom controller and regardless of what way the stop/continue navigation is implemented (default resume or done) it would be great to be able to agree to the popup using a key/button. As it stands now, I have not found a way to agree to any popup using a keyboard action, only with a mouse and by the time I switch to mouse mode the popup has disappeared! Lol...
Cheers!
-
@Andre-Trudeau That is correct Might take a look into that later but not really a priority to offer full support for bluetooth controllers.
-
@RetiredWingMan Then you disable the default behavior

@Corjan-Meijerink thank you. I think perhaps I misunderstood the way it will work.

@RetiredWingMan I didn't tell you yet
