Voice prompts are in high speed

Hello, I took the app for its maiden voyage yesterday. When I was coming up to a turn, it would announce it, but it would be in high speed. I would say the message was sped up by 10 times. It was comical. I'm using an android phone. I tried changing voices but that made no difference. Please help.

@Mike-wiruth, The speech synthesis is an OS setting. Go into your devices settings menu (not the app, but the phones itself!), tap accessibility, Text-to-speech output, and adjust speaking rate (or similar, I am translating this).
