avoid ferries
-
When I am planning my route to and from England, I use the chunnel. Everytime the route wants me to use a ferry, how can I avoid the ferry in my planning?
-
@Patrick-Kelley Whenever I travel from the UK to Europe, I always end my route at either a Ferry terminal or Chunnel Terminal (Exit port) and then start a new route from the port/terminal I have arrived in to my destination, rather than trying to include the ferry/train journey as part of my route.
Hope that helps, Tony. -
@Skellum I've tried all that with not much success. I found where you can check to avoid ferries, but it doesn't work. with all the updating they've done, one would think. Thank you for your reply

@Patrick-Kelley Place your route point on the slip road of the M20 and similar in France.
-
@Nick-Carthew Nick, thank you for the reply, that is not working for me. neither on the app or the web interface.

@Patrick-Kelley Please share your route (make sure it's set to public), so people can have a look at why it's not working for you. It works for me too (in the route planner/web interface), like in @Nick-Carthew's example. It works on all maps (HERE, TomTom and OSM).

@Herko-ter-Horst, Herko-ter-Horst, here is my ride. thank you for your time. Patrick. https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/8560919?mode=share

@Patrick-Kelley For some reason, the OpenStreetMap that you planned this route on, doesn’t want to take the tunnel. I would suggest switching to the HERE or TomTom planning maps. Whatever one is best for your navigation device.

@Nick-Carthew thank you for your reply. I planned this route using Here, for some reason leaving the UK it is the ferry, but on the way back, it is the train. both routes are like this. let me know what you think. when I am riding in main land Europe, I use this app to navigate.

@Patrick-Kelley ok, so switching maps doesn't solve the problem. but selecting the Here as my default map fixes the problem. Thank you everyone for helping and giving me some tips.
another question, when using the App, where can I changes from MPH to KM?
