Hello , sorry if I'm wrong forum first post ,
I was seeing does anyone have some routes around the area I will be staying in Switzerland (Saint-Luc )? We are doing the 3 passes but this can be done in a day I believe . We will be there for 5 days. Any other good routes. I've had a look in the Library but they seem to be a few hours away just to join the route. Thank you.

@Andrew-Vaughan The great thing with MyRoute-app is you can take a route from the RouteXpert library, add it to your library and adjust it to suit your needs.

Always willing to help if I can.

          hi @Andrew-Vaughan

you could use the "create scenic route option" you would then have a rough idea of a route that suited your needs and adjust as necessary.

i also agree with @Nick-Carthew it is quite easy to play with other routes and make them fit

to achieve, we must first attempt ✌️

                    Hi Andrew,

Saint Luc is not the best option as "basecamp" in my opinion because of it´s location.

How many km would you like to ride each day? Just on road or with some off-road elements? What bike? Do you ride alone or with friends? Questions over questions... 🙂

For your consideration: a personal "POI list" with many passes, interesting places, etc.: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1wRIVqBxCOUcmLwVvuTIejBr5bh_r4pA&usp=sharing

Unfortunately, this cannot be done in MRA, because of too much entries.^^

                    Regards,
                    André

@Andrew-Vaughan It´s no bad place, but every day you will have to get out of Val d’Anniviers and after the tour back into it.

That means: the nearest summit in eastern direction is the Simplon pass. It´ll cost you approx. 90 minutes to get there if you use the highway. And of course you´ll have to return the exact way for another 90 minutes to get to Saint Luc.

The nearest summit in western direction is Col de la croix de coeur, which is also approx. 90 minutes using the highway...

Worst: you don´t have options to go north / south from Saint Luc because every possible route will leave you in a dead end. You´ll simply have to do that 90 minutes east or west to get anywhere else. That´s three "lost" hours every day. 😞

@Erdna, Yes, riding/planning in Alps/Dolomites is a lot more complex then let's say Eifel, Ardennes, Vosges or other less high mountains where roads actually go OVER the mountains instead of IN BETWEEN them. The Alps are on everyone's bucket list (mine too, I am going to Austria in September), But no matter where you stay, you will always have some doubles in your routes.
