Tools on planning screen
-
Hello, the tools that you get on the left side of the map are very handy for repetitive actions. The
- +- is good to have.
- the add waypoints via coordinates I never use, not sure if other do.
- 3D I never use (can be moved under "Page menu" "Toolkit ").
- Streetview excellent tool!
- The Elevation graph I never use not sure about others maybe can also be moved under "Toolkit ".
- Not sure what the last (Crosshair) tool does, nothing seems to happen when I press it.
And option I use a lot, and assume others do too is (Calculate)! This needs a tool shortcut on the planning screen. After plotting your route you want to calculate the distance to your next stop be it Coffe, Lunch, Petrol, etc currently it takes 2 clicks and if your using a phone or tablet you need to scroll down to (calculate) and click on it.
I think adding it would really speed up planning stops along the route.
Another excellent and helpful tool to have on the main planning screen would be (Avoid).
Sorry for long message but I do believe many people would prefer these shortcut tools. Even better would be an (edit shortcut tools) so users can add their own favourite shortcuts.
Cheers all

It should center the map at your location.

I do use it a lot. Mostly when I create POIs based on locations I find on the internet so that I can include them in the routes when planning trips.
The Elevation graph I never use not sure about others maybe can also be moved under "Toolkit ".
I like to use these in the (road book) explanations of trips that I put together.

@Jack-van-Tilburg Thanks for your reply, perhaps then the "3D" tool can be moved to (Toolkit) and "Calculate" can replace it. I'm suggesting these features are removed just that they could be moved under (Toolkit) if they aren't used very often.
Do you use the "Calculate" feature?

@Jack-van-Tilburg I did not know the calculator function existed. I always just did a quick calc in my head.

@JP-d - second the calculate function! I do use it quite a bit on the web planning site when planning trips. Would definately enhance the app version functionilty.
-
@Doug-Robinson it's very handy, I don't want to miss calculate in my head when planning a trip for 12 people.

Oh my god... I was thinking: what are they talking about... calculator function??? I went looking for it and discovered it now for the first time
I think I will be forgetting it again soon, since distance in kilometers is not a thing I plan routes on. Distance in time of course is important, but the the info in the waypoint list is quite sufficient for me. It's funny though, I have been using MRA for that long, and never saw it before
