Android Auto - Night mode always on
-
Hi.
I launch MyRoute on the phone, map is in day mode. I connect to Android Auto, map switches to night mode.
I launch MyRoute on Android Auto, map always on night mode...

@ATLast
Android Auto en Apple CarPlay are still "under construction". -
@Jack-van-Tilburg I know, but as this is a place to report bugs, I post them...

Better late than never.
I've noticed this also with other apps. It seems an AA thing not a MRA specific thing. -
@M-Schrijver and I think it depends on the brand AA because mine starts up in daylight mode
-
@Marinus-van-Deudekom
First time (mostly in the morning) nearly everytime it starts in night/dark mode. Other times during the same day it is the correct mode.
If available, the light sensor in AA Headunit should determine if night- or -daymode is required. Otherwise it should be the phone. -
@M-Schrijver, I have seen similar behaviour only on GMaps
Suddenly during bright daylight and no tunnels in sight it often changes to darkmode, sometime for hours. And then it suddenly changes back... -
@M-Schrijver I've had both the phone and Android Auto on at the same time. Whenever I hit a tunnel both devices change mode at exactly the same time. That makes me believe it's the mode of the phone leading the way.
Today I used only Android Auto and when I hit a tunnel Android Auto changed mode so now I'm not shure anymore.
Maybe @Corjan-Meijerink can share his opinion on this. I bet he knows -
The sensors of the AA headunit has the highest priority. The sensor of the phone comes next.
In my case (Goldwing 2018) everything is done by the Goldwing headunit because it has al the required sensors. The phone is only the source of the software and does the calculations. -
@M-Schrijver said in Android Auto - Night mode always on:
The sensor of the phone comes next.
The MRA app does not use the phones light sensor at all. It uses knowledge in the map concerning tunnels and sunset/dawn information (most likely from the GPS signal).

MRA has three settings
Auto
Light
Dark."Light" and "Dark" are manual settings.
"Auto" is determined by the OS of your phone. In case of AA is it AA which determined with i.e the light sensor which theme (light of dark) is used.
so, MRA must provied the posibilty but the phone makes the choice
