What's next?

Hey all!
As you've probably seen, the new MyRoute-app has been submitted to Google & Apple for approval: https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/4514/it-has-been-done
With this, will the testing procedure as we know come to an end? No!
The group of Beta testers in this forum will remain! We will continuously keep sending you updates to make sure you have access to the latest (early-access, Beta) version. You can keep posting feedback in this channel but obviously we will add a public section in the forum for all users to use. The Beta part (this) of the forum will have my priority to reply to everything. As seasoned Beta testers, you might want to be active in the public section
The only thing that will change is that the Beta test group won't automatically expand. As the pre-sale ends Monday, nobody will automatically be added to the forum and the sign-up forms for the Beta will be taken offline.
Do you want to switch to the public version of the app?
On iOS, simply download the app from the App Store. You can keep TestFlight installed and whenever you want, just download the app again from thereOn Android, it's slightly more complicated. To remove the Beta version, visit https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.cloudmax.myrouteapp and click unsubscribe. You might need to wait a while, restart the Play Store and then you will have the public version! If you want to test again, visit that same link, enroll again and complete the same steps.
Note: switching between public and beta version should work without reinstalling. Even your offline maps should remain intact. However, if the app is completely unresponsive (or doesn't open), you should reinstall. Then you do loose app data (nothing important but you do need to login again, reinstall maps etc). This won't happen frequently but if we add a new feature in the Beta that changes the app's memory and you switch to the public version, it doesn't understand it anymore. Switching back to the Beta will then obviously work.
Will there be another Beta before release?
Unfortunately not. Due to regulations and mandatory changes in the App Store / Play Store configuration, we cannot release a new Beta until the public version is releasedWhat are the plans for the app?
In a separate post I will share what the changes are in the version that will now be released! (v4.0.0).We've still got quite a nice list of community suggestions that we wish to implement but the focus will be the following:
- Battery usage (we are in touch with HERE)
- CarPlay & Android Auto (they lack quite some important features)
Now with the release we need to schedule all the feedback we still need to await the initial public response to the release so I cannot promise exactly what our short-term schedule will look like. If we have an actual roadmap, you will be the first to know!
Keep up the great work people!
Your contribution has been fundamental to the success of this app.Best,

@MarcM Yes!
The only issue is that the Beta cannot be released until the public release is finished. So you guys will have to wait till the public release too. After that, you will always get the updates earlier than the rest.

Sorry I got lost?
For Android Beta, to get V4, I need just wait until Tuesday?
Or do I need to do something extra? For iOS, I know that both versions are possible to use, right?

- Beta updates will only be possible again after the release (monday)
- it doesn’t matter what version you use, decide for yourself if you want early-access or guaranteed stable release
- Beta will always be ahead or equal to release

@Corjan-Meijerink I was under the impression that as a beta tester I would receive an update sometime after yhe official release. This morning when I opened my app to travel, I noticed it was a nes version 4.0.0 ? Am I off the beta testing?
-
If I use testflight in App Store he wants to override my installed release version 4.0, so how can we stay a beta tester?

A new Beta update will be available somewhere this week!
You can keep TestFlight as is and will automatically be notified if a Beta is available. -

@MarcM Yes, you have to keep switching between app store and testflight.

I see in this forum new issues related to the Monday publicly presented version 4.0.
Is it an idea to (re)post the new topics regarding the 'live' version in the forum section < The MyRoute-app > and to limit the Beta forum for issues regarding beta versions. -
@MarcM Yes, you have to keep switching between app store and testflight.
@Bart-DM, isn't the last beta equal to the current public? I don't think there is a great need to keep switching.
-
Last Beta currently is still 3.2.17! A new Beta (4.0.1) will most likely be submitted today!

@Con-Hennekens Soon the beta will be ahead of the app in the app store, but may be slightly less stable.

@Bart-DM it’s the ambition to have the Beta’s more stable
