I can’t access them. I downloaded the offline maps when the beta first permitted that but now, if I try to access them it just says I need to download an update. When I click to do that is says “downloading update” but that’s as far as it gets. Days can go by but no update!
iPhone XR, plenty of storage available, originally downloaded the Europe map set. I have deleted and reloaded the latest beta release but no progress.

@Mark-Bowles they are working on fixes for the issues with downloading and updating maps. Can you delete the data for the iPhone app?

@Mark-Bowles Have you downloaded many maps? Then it can take quite a long time. The downloadfunction needs some more tweeking before the official release. It's under investigation.

It would be very helpful if it was visible that the download takes place. For example a rolling ball or an indicator-line that fills up.

@Dikke-Wim Agreed, but my understanding is that this is not as simple as it seems with the HERE map. At the moment, there is only 1 way and that is to be patient while downloading.

@Dikke-Wim developers are still thinking how to tweek the speed of te donwloads. Perhaps it will be possible to update only a specific region instead of all the maps at one time. I agree that it's difficult to be patient!

Apparently you don't know me 🙂 People praise me for my patience (no kidding)!

My point was that a progress bar would be very helpful to indicate that something really gets downloaded (download has started).

@Dikke-Wim Indeed, I don't know you, and I don't know how patient you are. I, on the other hand, am not patient at all or as autistic as can be! (😁 ) And apparently, it's complicated to add a status indicator. Otherwise, it would have already been included.

@Mark-Bowles for those struggling with this as I have I think I have a work around. After deleting the MRA app and all associated data I gave reinstalled the app (using the latest beta version in Test Flight) then carried out the off line map update before reinstalling the maps. This seems to have worked. The map update (without installed maps) takes a few seconds. The subsequent download of the maps don’t then seem to need a subsequent update.

Things are being developed to cope with this. There can be no progress indication because updates are about delta's (difference with the current maps) and it is not known beforehand how big they are. And we do not want progress bars like Microsoft fantasizes them, do we? 😉

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

Maybe a rolling ball as a symbol that something is downloaded? Now you have to guess if something is downloaded or not.

@Dikke-Wim, True! Actually I generated some proof of my bandwidth not being used at all some time after initializing an update. There is something that breaks the update, mainly if it is a lot at once. It is being studied by the MRA team. You can place a moving icon there (which is a good idea to trigger some patience in human beings 😉 ) but it would actually say nothing about progress.
