Garmin XT - it seems the MRA suggest you just use MRA created routes as a Track in a Garmin or maybe i just do not fully understand the support page. But i want to converts my track to a route as i want audible instructions... however when i do this my Garmin always changes the route from the track i created.. is there a way around this or do i have something set up wrong on my Garmin Device?

Hi Matthew, use gpx1.1 you can use the route you created.
Before you start the route, make sure that you are on the starting point and that you have connections with minimum off 3 satteliets

In my experience with the XT most recalculation issues are caused by not having enough waypoints in your route.

You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

@hans-van-de-ven-mra-master I do this but it seems to always re-route... do i need to add more waypoints to shape the route more?

@matthew-perkins-0 Make sure you have every 5/6km (3/4 miles) a waypoint. Should keep the XT from recalculation.

I have found that creating a waypoint maybe half a mile (KM) after each major junction will keep you on the right route. Always put a waypoint a mile down the road from your starting position and use this as the first waypoint. If you don't the sat nav can keep trying to reroute you back to the start if you weren't close enough.

I wouldn't say you need a waypoint every 3/4 miles though, especially if you are on a main road. It's the small goat tracks the sat Nav suggests to save you 500 yards that you have to learn to ignore!

I always use plenty of waypoints around towns and after major junctions.
However the 'skip waypoint' feature is still often required on my Garmin XT!
