Re-routing?
-
When I tried the free trial of MyRoute NAV, I found that it would not re-route me if there was a detour for some reason. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way it works? Thanks, Bob. U.S.A.

@bob-stratman With the IOS (Apple) version the app will automatically skip one route point but only when you are closer to the next route point. It will not automatically skip via points (hand shape), these need to be skipped manually from the menu.

@Nick-Carthew Strange as today more than 2 years later I have the same experience but using Android-14 Samsung A54 phone.

@hlaan must be something else because the app had a lot of updates. Is you will share such a route here and make sure it's set to public
-
@hlaan What kind of mode did you use? An A to B route with curvy option, or what?

@Marinus-van-Deudekom
Hi Marinus, any route I've used so far as well using the 'bestemming - destination' standard navigate option as well making use of a 'rondrit – round trip' shared by someone else. Every time when I go away from the route the app is not re-routing and points me to go back where I left the route even if via a small detour I'm back on track it continues telling me turn around and to go back to where I left the route. Example is the the route TTT 2003 03 Rondje Utrecht I used yesterday (nice route by the way) where I chose to skip the first part (Schoonhoven-Nieuwegein) as this area well known to me and to access the route in Nieuwegein. Did start the route in the app at home with the idea it would pick-up as soon I entered the route in Nieuwegein but at the route the app continuously was telling me to go turn around while I was driving at the route, 1st chose to shut down the audio not to hear the directions given and following the route on the screen-line, approx. 20 minutes later stopped closed down the app restarted but still directions where not following the route instead telling me to turn around. Probably cannot start in the middle of a route ?
Experienced same earlier with a navigate to where there was a piece of the route blocked due to road works, at the end the navigation did a re route but at that time was already close to destination point 45 minutes later. Looks like same behaviour from Here app that is also very slow in re routing while for example TomTom is doing this pretty fast.
May be some tips & tricks I'm not aware of in the MyRoute app where this not re routing behaviour can be avoided would be very appreciated as further do like the functionality sharing/using shared routes.Thanks

@hlaan A long press on the route point where you wish to start from will skip all previous route points.

@Nick-Carthew said in Re-routing?:
@hlaan A long press on the route point where you wish to start from will skip all previous route points.
Thanks for the tip, will try this

@hlaan Where there any shaping points and our viapoints in that route of was it a track.
If it was a track the trick from @Nick-Carthew doesn't work.
Maybe you can share that route here and set it to public. -
@Marinus-van-Deudekom It was a route from the RouteXpert library.
-
@Nick-Carthew ok thnkx Nick. Didn't notice that and thought it might have a route given by his friend and therefore could have been a track as well

Hi all,
Not sure what exactly happened but my issue with re-routing seems to be resolved.
2 things:- Made a setting change in the app: Navigation settings->function->activated offline navigation
- Took public roundtrip 'Rondrit Zeeland vanuit Ooltgensplaat', made some changes to it on my W10 computer and used it in the app.
Since re-routing works fine and very fast
