I'm trying to plan a route from 52 Ferry Access Rd, Bridgeport, Connecticut to Wheels Through Time Museum, 62 Vintage Ln, Maggie Valley, NC and keep getting to above error, I tried unchecking all the avoidances and it still throws the same error, any idea why? Thanks

I just tried and also created the route successfully using the web interface (using HERE base map for routing). Running Brave browser on Windows 11.

At least I know it's something I'm doing. I'm running Firefox on Linux Mint, I tried it in Chrome in Mint and Windows 11 as well, does the same thing. I log into the web site, click the dropdown and change it to create scenic route, type Ferry Access Rd in the first box and click the first suggested address that's there, then type Wheels Through Time in the second box and click the first suggested address, click Next Step, my preference would be to avoid highways but I tried avoiding nothing and it does the same thing, I click Generate and get the error "It was not possible to find a correct route. Please adjust the direction or duration and try again" I tried it in Openstreetmap and HERE default, same thing. Thanks for your help

@junkyarddiveroptonline.net You’re using the route generator. Click the New Route tab and then enter the addresses in the search box and you’ll be able to create your route.

The distance is to long to create a scenic route

Do you know what the maximum distance for a scenic route is? This is the first I've heard of a limitation. Thanks

@Stevedo-6-0 I’m not a developer but I do know that the restriction is not by distance but by how many nodes are used. Nodes are similar to waypoints, these are used by the system to map out the route.

@junkyarddiveroptonline.net No problems when using the web planner under Safari on my MacBook. Both mentioned addresses are found immediately and a route from A to B without further waypoints is constructed in just a few seconds.

Thanks Nick. On the basis that nodes are a system object, and I assume never visible to the end user, I think it would make sense to generate an error message that more closely reflects the issue when users such as @junkyarddiveroptonline.net run into the issue of creating a route that is too "long". That way they know what is happening and can act accordingly.

@Stevedo-6-0 Not a bad idea but as the whole website including the route generator are being redesigned, I guess that the developers would rather concentrate their time towards that. Maybe the new website route generator wouldn’t require such a message. Who knows 🤷
