We are extremely proud of our 5.0 release.
The feedback has been heartwarming and the public received the update with great enthusiasm. Obviously some issues were discovered and the 5.0.1 update addresses most critical issues.Disappearing keyboard issue
Definitely the most frustrating issue of the past weeks. Both iOS and Android users reported an issue where the keyboard would immediately close when it opened. On for example searching in the home screen or editing the tracklog name. After the keyboard closed, the displayed home screen was even not functioning properly.A big thanks to @Siepermann-Ronald for allowing me to visit him and using his device to solve the issue
Android no map displayed (on older versions)
Some older Android devices using mainly versions <= 14 had weird issues where the map would not be displayed properly after resuming the app or when opening the account page / routes and tracks page. This issue is quite complex and the bottomline isn't the best news as old Android versions will slowly but surely reach an incompatible state.For these older Android devices we cannot guess the correct configuration anymore so we allow you to configure quite advanced settings!
For Android only and only <= 14 we show an additional button at the bottom of the map settings (the settings that show when you tap the map layers icon on the home screen).Tap this button to change 2 possible settings. I won't explain them in details, just change these and read the displayed instructions to try what works for your device
It will probably we choosing the best of the worst 
But this is all we can do for these old versions. My recommendation if you have issues:- Try hybrid + texture first
- Then test virtual + surface
- Then test virtual + texture
- Default (best) is hybrid + surface
Most users will only enter this menu on instructions of our support / when they have issues (as the disclaimer shows)
App not loading
Some users experienced an issue where the app would not launch correctly a second time (mostly Android). The issue that caused this to happen, has been resolved
Other
- Limit of 1000 POIs per route due to performance issues that can be experiences otherwise
- Allow changing travel mode in planner (this was simply broken)
- New planner routes can now be navigated directly when "navigate routes as track" setting is enabled
- Textual improvements to avoid settings to precent confusion. Green is allowed and red is restricted
- Ensure traffic information and other basic map elements are displayed again after changing map style
- Allow closing the menu while navigating by tapping somewhere on the map
- Show altitude in correct user unit (feet or meters)
- Added warning when using satellite maps in offline mode (because these always require internet)
- Prevent Android app showing green / yellow border when using bluetooth controller
- General stability of the app and solved small internal errors
