Multiple users to edit route
-
I'm looking for a way for me and my friend to edit the same routes in a particular folder.
I found the Groups section in the MyRouteApp website and thought that it would do exactly what I wanted but no.
I understand that we don't wnat other users (friends) to modify any routes in our personnel folder but when managing a trip with other people, having to get the route in our personnal section and then sending it to the according group doesn't make any sense.
Is there any way we can create and modify a route directly in the group section wihtout any other manipulation ?
Maybe that functionnality must be given only to the administrators of the group but at least it would be possible to do it.

That would really be a great feature!
Many of all want to ride in groups. So it would be a kind of quantum leap, if we could work on same route in a team.I can understand, to work simulaneously on a route by different users would be will be difficult to achieve.
But I can imagine:
if a user has created a folder in section "Routes" and granted access to friends - currently user friends can see those routes and can push the button "+use route". But this will only copy this route into the own private folder. And here is maybe the bullet for development: currently this access right for user firends is only "read" (and use). Could it be enabled/developed to grant access right "write"?

@Guzzist Then you’ll have to make very clear agreements with those friends. I definitely don’t want someone else potentially messing up my routes! No idea if it’s technically feasible. Probably not, at least not easily. Who gets priority when saving the route if editing a route simultaneously?

Within a select group, I can also see the advantages. In the current system, it’s quite cumbersome to work together on the same route.

This would be ideal for biker clubs too. Give touroperators edit tights, and members only read rights. It has been suggested multiple times over the years, and there might perhaps be possibilities to develop something like this after the overhaul of the web-planner. For the current web-planner certainly not.

...Who gets priority when saving the route if editing a route simultaneously-
...if I copy "my" route into an extra folder (which is granted to be accessed by friends), then no one can messing up my route
-
...that's the job of a server to make time stamps for every actions (like edit). Every saving action is a single action on a timescale; there is no "simultaneously".

I am not a specialist for this, but I can imaging that this is not possible. If two persons open a route, to makes changes and one is quicker, how will this change be seen by the other. A kind of live sync is needed.
Open a route for one person for editing and then blocked for the other could be possible.
